I just joined out there last week, seems like a decent course. Anyone that is a Club Corp memeber want to get a round in at Oakmont? I'd also would like to play the other courses in the CC family, if you have any suggestions or want to play, please respond, thanks!

I tend to travel to Dallas during the spring and play up there quite a bit. Gleaneagles is good, need to play Stonebridge Ranch Dye course, Las Colinas is ok, not sure if the greens are back yet, I enjoyed the Hogan designed course at Trophy Club. Haven't made it to many others yet.

If you get a chance, go to Palm Springs and Play Mission Hills and Indian Wells Country Club. Both great courses and fairly cheap when you think about the area.

Also use your member ship to go play PGA National Championship course (mon-thurs only).

Bumping an old topic.

What can you tell me about Oakmont in Corinth?

Was a social member for a while last year and played a handful of rounds.  Nothing particularly impressive about the place but I enjoyed the conditions and layout of the course and practice area is decent. The clubhouse is average at best. I don't have the numbers but it did seem like there were a lot of members. I live nearby so I'd probably join the full golf membership if I had more time to play. Oakmont and DCC ($$$) are the only options around here with no public courses in town... and Timberlinks does not count lol

Thanks!  I stopped in there a few days ago.  I think there are 430 members, and they do 40-some thousand rounds a year.  So it has to be pretty busy.  I liked that it is walkable and people do walk it.  The clubhouse is just my style, small town low budget.  🙂  I've always read a lot of bad vibes about Club Corp, now Invite, but if what I saw is what I get, it seems just fine.

Lantana is not far away, depending on where you live.  It's higher initiation and dues than Oakmont, but a lot lower initiation than Denton.  Looks like a first class operation.   Supposedly also walkable.

If we decide to move over that way, I'll have to get out and play Oakmont and Lantana to help with the decision.
