Hello y’all sandbaggers

I have a set of circa 70s “Professional” Ram blades and persimmons. 2-pw, 1/3/4. Brand new in packaging box and plastic. Never hit, mint. Haven’t been able to get any info yet... any ideas? I have several pics too

Really cool clubs! Thanks for sharing. I don’t know anything about them but I’d think they are closer to early 70’s, maybe even late 60’s, just by the packaging.

Laminates, not persimmon.

 

I suggest you put them up on ebay for a buck. The market will tell you what they are worth.

I suspect those are sporting goods store clubs. When pro quality clubs were available only at green grass pro shops, they were not sold as complete box sets.

plastic like overwrap on the wood hosels is typical.

The value is in the decorative nature of a brand new set of clubs in original packaging from 50 years ago, a time capsule, not really very much value as players clubs as they were a store line, probably a beginners set.

 

I’d think they would go for $100-$150. They’d look cool in someone’s man cave.

Such as it seems in the pics, the head shape looks reminiscent of the Golden Ram XPD-100, which were the Ram pro line iron offering in the late 60s. The names represented are from that period in Ram's history, as well; Doug Sanders is mentioned several times in the Maltby Club ID Guide around this time.

 

That they resemble the XPD 100, but are stamped with "Professional," would certainly seem to point them at store line product (which generally aren't listed in the Maltby Guide).

 

Any chance you could share a pic of one of the shaft bands from the irons?
