I’ve use the Finn a couple times.  They are quite fun.  I think “some” of the benefits are minimized in the way many courses are only allowing 1 person per cart during COVID, but pre COVID it was even better; speed of a cart and ability to go straight to your ball like walking.

I think they have a place.  Seems like they’ve made some upgrades since last year too, this year’s models look a little more ruggedly engineered.

Me and some of the guys at work drove down to Bend, OR a couple weeks ago for a long golf weekend and played at Quail Run golf course.  On the second to last hole we noticed a couple guys driving around on these things and immediately wished we had noticed them.  Our tee time a couple days later got cancelled at another course so I was more than excited to go back to Quail run and rent these scooters.  Oh man, what a great time.  I'm 56, 5'11" and 220 lbs, the other guys are 65, 50, & 49.  We all had a blast.  I golfed like crap, but had a smile on my face the entire time.  Renting the scooters was only $8 more than renting  a cart so it seemed like a no brainer.  You have to put all your stuff in your bag so if you want to store a jacket, cooler, or other stuff it just won't work unless there are some accessories available.  I was thinking I could rig up a basket and attach it to the rear fender pretty easily.  They are super easy to ride and we didn't need any directions.  We just cruised around a bit before tee time and were good to go.  We were all talking about wanting to buy these on the drive home which got me looking at some details.  The scooters are only 80 lbs or so so I could probably pick it up and put it in the back of my pickup but a ramp or something would be better.  I'd have to check with my local courses to see if they allow outside carts so I don't know if that's a problem.  Long story short, I'm looking for courses around here that rent them and will absolutely do it again.  If I can convince my wife, I'll be buying one.  Long shot, but hey it's worth a try.  Oh, I almost forgot.  We were taking pretty liberal birdie bumps and it never proved to be a problem.  Just thought I'd throw that in there for those of you who like to get well lubricated on the golf course!  Oh, another thing, the speed is slightly faster than a regular cart.  We had a few races and the scooters won every time.

I have been on a Finn twice and absolutely loved it.  The first time I played 9 holes at Pine Needles in NC with a buddy in 55 minutes.  The second I played Mid Pines alone and got around in just over two hours.  The Finn was slower this time around for some reason.  They claim that if they have frost in the morning the Finns do not run well for the duration of the day and they are puzzled by this.  The club I belong to does not allow them but I live in a community where I can ride it to the club.  I might buy this as opposed to a cart.
