Alternative battery for Sun Mountain Speed E Cart

Found my old SMS E Cart deep in the garage. It´s in great condition and hope that I can bring it to live again. The problem is that the batteries I have for it are dead and cannot be charged. Wonder if anyone knows if it`s possible to replace it with some other brand battery and maybe with a new charger?

I have owned and built a few e-bikes. I've replaced the guts of one's battery inside its metal housing. I can almost guarantee that you can find one. Find a number on the battery and start googling. If you have to replace the guts because it's a proprietary case, that might get interesting. I've done it myself, but it's not for the faint of heart. There are people who could do it.

If you go to the forum at endless-sphere.com, in the battery folder, you can probably present your battery's photo and whatever markings and such and get some specific advice. Although they'll probably tell you how to make the cart go 40 MPH lol.

I replaced mine at batteries plus. Just carry the old one in with you and they will fix you up.

Thank you for the suggestion. Problem is that I live overseas and no Batteries plus stores in the neighborhood. Was hoping to get an link so I can order online. May I ask how much you paid for your batteries at Batteries plus? Found these on Ebay are the prices fair? The Batteries Plus here in the States charged less than $100 for the 2 Duracell 12v batteries. That price included soldering the batteries together in series. I supplied the storage bag. These were not lithium. They are 12V 9AH AGM batteries. The Duracell part # is : DURA12-9F2

Those are pretty common batteries used in UPS (power supplies). OP you should be able to find someone in your country who sells them and maybe they can connect them as required in your battery bag. Unless you can just plug them in place of your existing batteries. Then you should be able to use your existing charger.

Does anyone know how to repair or replace the handle control panel on Sun Mountain eCart?

I have also a problem with my control panel - it turnes on when i likes to do (and I need to run to catch it 😞 )..

(the cart has not been used for a long time - stored in a garage with no heat)

- Now I have tried til give it "Ballistol" (greaser for guns) and i hope the contacts will release..

 

unfortunately the spare part cannot be found anywhere.. so I cross my fingers that this will help.. ☀️
