DG Pro step pattern?- Additional help needed

Long shot, but does anyone have a link to the True Temper DG Pro step pattern drawing? It's no longer on their website. Or does someone have a R300 tapered iron shaft laying around, and can provide the tip to first step distance for a particular iron shaft (ideally the 6 iron)?

OK, so I need some WRX genius insight. Reason I asked about the DG Pro step pattern is that I'm looking to buy a set of Nike VRS Forged irons with DG Pro R300 that looks to be a Dallas Golf build after Nike folded. I received a 5 iron already, and compared it to my factory shafted Nike VR Forged Pro Combos with DG Pro R300.

The VRS 5 iron clearly has a 6 iron DG Pro R300 shaft as it perfectly matches up with my 6 iron (except for total length). The distance to the first step is 11.75" (assuming 1.25" bore depth), and it should be 12.75". The seller of the VRS irons I'm looking at with DG Pro R300 provided me the distances from the top of hosel to first step, and assuming a 1.25" bore the distances are as follows:

(5 iron 11.75")

6 iron 11.5"

7 iron 11.25"

8 iron 11"

9 iron 10.75"

P 10.5"

This progression of 1/4" distances does not match what the R300 distances should be, even if hard stepped. Any ideas as to what's going on with this Dallas Golf build???

Here's what normal and hard-stepped should be:

5 iron 12.75 / 11.75

6 iron 11.75 / 11.25

7 iron 11.25 / 10.75

8 iron 10.75 / 9.75

9 iron 9.75 / 9.25

P 9.25 / 9.25

Rip of the grips and look at the code printed on the butt. This set sound like a "home made" set based on former DEMO/Fitting shafts like this:

Seem like 2 x #6 iron shafts, the rest is #7 iron shaft with different tip trim, so heads is most likely reamed to .370

If im right, you will find that the screen codes on the #7 to PW is all 38.00"

The #9 and PW should have 6 x 1.75" long steps after the tip,

if its based on 6-and 7 shafts this 6 steps will be 1.50" long each

EDIT - i had a wrong tip length for the #8 and shorter

For all i know, they are ALL based on #6 iron shafts, and the 6 first steps is equal (1.50") on 6,7,8 so only the code on the butt can tell what they are

I was thinking a similar thing, but were the DG Pro available as parallel tip shafts?

I haven't pulled the trigger on the 6-PW and I probably won't now. I have the 5 iron, and the idea is to replace a VR Pro Combo 5 iron for forgiveness, so the slightly stiffer tip will likely be offset by the higher launching head so not a big deal.

as far as i know there was no Parallel tip version, but i cant recall how DG PRO was designed.

Some TT shafts has taper "all the way" to first step, others only have 6/8" taper then its 0.370 further to first step, so many Taper tip shafts can be tip trimmed just like it was a Parallel tip shaft if we modify the hosel to 0.370

DG pro was the production model of Tour Prototype (Monaco) with a progressive flighted pattern, thats no longer present in this set, and they was "Semi descending", and this set up above make them descending, so its a different shaft set than the original and quite a lot. #5 is Hard-stepped 1 X and #9 is soft stepped 2 X so the flex slope and flight pattern is altered a lot with lower launch MID and higher launch short irons.

Thanks for the info. If this approach is actually what was used for the build, then it's pretty lame and underhanded that they're being pushed as "DG Pro R300". I'm definitely going to pass on them.

You are at least awake and ask the right questions, and what you see here is not that uncommon, its all sorts of "mix trades" out there, and only a few weeks ago another WRX profile asked for help since the shafts he got did not look right, so pay attention or you might get fooled by someone who dont tell the truth about what they are selling. Here is the last similar case, it ended 'ok as far as i know.https://forums.golfwrx.com/discussion/comment/19228274/#Comment_19228274
