KBS Tour S vs KBS C-Taper Lite 110 S

I have been playing the 714 AP2 with the KBS Tour S shaft for five years now and was thinking of going to a slightly lighter shaft, but like the characteristics of the KBS Tour. Has anyone had experience with this shift and the KBS C-Taper Lite 110 S?

Very interested in this also. Gaming KBS Tour 120 and thinking about going the same route as OP. Was able to try CTLite in regular only (105gr) and felt too light for my liking so it would be great to hear someone playing CTLite S or X (110-115gr) coming from KBS Tour

KBS Tour plays quite a bit stiffer than C-Taper Lite, probably by more than half a flex. CTL has higher launch and, for me, has that characteristic C-Taper feel which I find somewhat boardy - I just don't like it. I've been playing KBS Tour for years and if I was looking to go to a lighter shaft would probably be looking at DG 105 or Modus 105. Actually, in the DG line I would probably go 120, but you want to go lighter so I suggested the 105. If you are looking at the Modus 105, it will play almost a full flex softer than KBS Tour, so you would have to hard step the S several times or you can soft step the X. If you want to stay with KBS, I might look at the Tour V which is somewhat lower launch and spin than KBS Tour and 10g lighter.

Thanks for the info tommyj. Titleist just sent several shafts to my fitter in the 105g to 110g range, Including the KBS Tour 105. I will let you know my thoughts after I hit them this weekend.

I would definitely recommend you try the C Taper Lite and see how it feels to you. If I was only allowed to play one KBS shaft, I’d go with the CTL as the best all arounder for me. Ignore flex labels. If the CTL stiff feels boardy, try the CTL reg at 105 grams. The C Taper plays quite stiff to flex, the CTaper Lite less so, but everyone has their own sense of feel. The torque on them is 2.5 so they should feel smooth if properly fit.

Not boardy at all to me. Powerful, penetrating flight. Great in the wind just like the standard C Tapers. I find the Tour spins too much for me. But if you want a lighter shaft with great stability, worth a demo.
