Here in Germany there's no LPGA golf period. Caught some tourneys via P2PTV and I'm enjoying the ADT very much. I absolutely like the format....maybe we'll see something like this on the men's tour some day. Clean slate after each cut makes for a lot of drama. Playing good one day, means zip on the next day. We'll see what transpires over the weekend...

EDIT: I still had the broadcast on m TiVo, so I looked for the MP interview. There wasn't one. Did you get a different broadcast in the UK?

 

 

 

Personally, I think they need another hour of coverage to build up the drama. Too much has already unfolded and been decided by the time they get on the air for only 2 hours of coverage.

 

And seriously, Christina Kim really really needs to reconsider her apparel choices. Or at least the sizing.

The live feed seems to be the same, but we get a different studio team, albeit broadcast from Florida.

 

I was watching a recap/summary type of programme and most of the top players (including most of the ones who 'missed the cut') were interviewed incuding a somewhat-tearful Morgan.

The final round of the ADT just started on TGC and I didn't realize it was tape delayed and already over. I went to ESPN.com to see if he new AP college football rankings were out and right there on the front page is the winner of the ADT.

EDIT: DOUBLE DAMMIT!!!!!! Even though Texas didn't play this weekend, and teams ahead of them lost . . . they DROPPED 1 spot in the AP rankings!!!

Let me just say these tape delay broadcasts are a travesty. If people wonder why more don't watch LPGA, it is squarely because of BS like this. I was settling in to watch the final round on NBC, not knowing it was tape delayed, simultaneously checking some sports scores online, I click on "golf" to see that the ADT is long over and the winner has been decided.

 

WTF?! This is supposed to be a big ticket event. All the drama and anticipation built up over three days was just wiped out in an instant. I guess it's my fault for not realizing the tournament's in Florida and that it'd be over by 3 pm EST. But tape delaying an event like this one, where the format, and the prize are all meant to heighten the drama of the final round, it's just another all-time low. It's so stupid I can't even find the words to describe it. :shout:

Nice to see Natalie Gulbis go for the jugular without collapsing. Her putting is coming along nicely.

 

Lorena, on the other hand, nearly let another one slip away. If she hadn't held such a big lead going into the back nine, NG might have cashed a check for $1 Milllllllliiioooon dollars

 

I was amazed at how many of the ladies hit it into the water (some multiple times).

A very impressive display of golf yesterday by Lorena and Natalie

coming down the stretch. Lorena pulls it out after a hiccup on 17 with a great

shot on 18 (a real win it or lose it shot ) after Natalie hit it in birdie range.

Natalie had legitimate putts at 5 under for the last 4, if she could have putted like Lorena

did the first 6 holes. A real boost for Ladies golf in my opinion.

 

I hate it that it could not have been live, but us golf fans have become use to that

sort of treatment from the Networks.

 

Maybe one day The Golf Channel will do all the golf on TV and we'll have it live

and on re-runs. And they will become better at it when doing so.

 

Heck! if the ladies keep getting prettier and better at all the shots, maybe there will be an

LPGA Channel.
