One length irons

Not sure of the yardages mostly. I have picked up the wrong club a couple times. Overall very satisfied with how these produce.

I built a set using pinhawk vertex 6-s irons and pinhawk hybrid 4-5. The irons are built to an 8-iron length with steel shafts. And the hybrids to a 5-iron length with a fairly heavy graphite shaft. I did this because I need the clubs to be a little upright for my height and swing. I am considering building a 6 hybrid to replace the 6 iron (I like the 6 iron but mid and long irons have never been my strength and I know I would be miserable with a true one length set). And I do keep one standard length sand wedge in the bag to use around the green. Overall I am still getting used to this dual length setup (because I play a lot less golf than I would like), but my yardage gaps are consistent and I’ve never hit better full wedge shots.
I built pinhawk clubs because I wasn’t totally sure I would like single length and I wanted to limit the initial investment (I used some heavily discounted shafts from hireko inexpensive grips from

golfworks). I may look at cobra or wishon in the future but i am genuinely impressed with pinhawk. The hybrids feel similar to my old ping rapture hybrids and the irons are solid.

I expect to stick with this dual length setup for a while and definitely recommend it.

Now that you mention it, I could see pulling the wrong club (duh they are all the same length.) Here's what I did and shows how "old school" I am, went to the driving range on a slow day, took some of those steel wire flag markers an parked them every 5 yds between the 50-100-150-200 signs. My iron yard ages are pretty dialed in over the years, low cap and play ALOT of golf.

Got my SL yardages compared them to my other clubs noticed not to many surprises and we're good to go. Point is got to know your yardahes to shoot low scores, guessing whether its a 5-7 iron and coming up short or air mailing a green not fun.
