Can you say... BEAST.

First let me formally introduce myself, as I have like a single digit post count and low credibility in all probablility. My name is Matt, I'm 15 and I am a 6.8 handicap out of central New Jersey. I was recently banned from my other forum, bombsquadgolf.com for making a comment about taylormade not being the supreme end-all golf equipment that a certain administrator made it out to be. Thus, I will be posting on here hopefully with some regularity. GolfWrx appears to be the Democracy to the BSG Totalitarianism. So thats who I am, now check out this beast of a golf club.

I first experienced this weapon-looking club today when I took an all MacGregor bag out to demo at my course. This club could potentially be the longest driver of all time, no lie, straight up. I don't hit the ball far ever, at all. 250-260 on a good day. (mind you I'm using an ill-fitted orlimar with IMO a garbage shaft in it, the NV) I usually get it near the fw and on or close to the green in 2 and short game it up for par. With this beast and the eye-o-matic 3W I hit a 553 yard par 5 in 2, and I've never been able to even smell the green in two. This Thing is an animal and I personally think the stock shaft is the perfect compliment to this driver. And the blue is class. Look that this guy.

Traditionalists wouldn't touch that clubhead with a ten foot shaft. The thing works. It is long, high, straight and loud. It's a golf club for the young and open minded. Left brain stodgy types won't like it, even when it's long and down the middle. The fairway woods are as good as any I have ever played.

I've hit it a couple of times in the simulator and I was amazed at the ball speeds it was generating. I've never had the chance to hit one outside though.

the fairway woods remind me of the old original tight lies, with a very very shallow face. the driver is rather nice, having hit in at the golf store i work at a bunch of times. the only complaint i have is the very noodle like shaft that it comes in. i've been told by our rep that its weak to generate more flex and club head speed but i'm not sold. the head itself is wonderfully made though

Wait til you guys see next seasons Mactec NVG TOUR, nice square head shape dark grey head colour and fitted with the fuji 757 speeder as standard, definately competition for other tour drivers out there. It is going to be retail too, ive hit it and it feels really nice, i love the speeder shaft but im afraid it wont be prising the r7 quad tp ut of the bag anytime soon.

Not only is that a real Fuji it incorporates the tri kick shaft in the previous MagTec. Fuji was so impressed with it that they licensed the technology.

 

My assistant Pro at my home course is a very good player and is going to it for next year. Was much impressed by it.

I agree with you, great club, i love the feel of it but seeins thought, i paid a fair whack for my r7 quad tp as soon as it was released i cant see my buyin one of these babies even though i do like it, feels great and the shaft is incredible, love the blades too with machine miled grooves, also the new fat lady putter is sick, great finish on it feels quality, Macgregor rep is tryin to get the stuff in my hands but i like to try and keep my clubs for at least a full season or two before changin, dont mind changin putters and wedges but i like to try and get settled for a little while.

i would go with the original. It can be had for very cheap and is one of the best bargains out there. I would go up in loft because for me it launched pretty low

This is a great club, I've had it for 3 weeks now and as the weather here has closed in I've barely had a chance to use it. I'm itching to get out and play with it more - can't wait for some better weather.

When is the MagTec Tour coming out!!!

 

The only thing that turned me off with theh original MagTec was the all blue colour cheme and the extreme whippiness of the shaft. However this thing looks amazing. From the pictures, it appears to be fairly pear-shaped, and I have loved the 757 in all the drivers that I have tried it in, but I have not been able to get any discounts on a custom order if the shop had to do so. IS this just the picture, or does the Macgregor 757 have a Black-Ion look to it?
