Filmed a swing

Bought my dad a golf net and was trying it out at the parents after I set it up for him, took a look at the swing as well on video. I have played like 2 rounds since last fall and haven’t been able to hit balls but ranges are all opened up starting yesterday so want to get back at it.

Any recommendations on an instructor to work with that you have had success with? Looks like I hit this one slightly on toe but that’s generally not my miss.

Anyone? is it the butchered covid home haircut? Something I see is my back foot tends to get a little too flared out at address.

i haven’t worked with an instructor in a couple years. Took an online lesson with DJ’s instructor a couple months ago who told me to straighten my right leg more, lol, and took a free online lesson from a friend, TJ Yeaton about a month ago. Looking for suggestions who you have had success with lately, maybe just keep at it myself. I usually post up a swing in the spring.

Dude, why are your hands so close to you. You make Greg Norman look like Moe Norman. I would back up a little and proceed from there if plan to keep at it yourself. No suggestions for instructors though.

OP, what is your current index and what are you trying to get down to, if i may ask?

Your swing looks really technically sound, i'm guessing you are pretty low already. I envy you guys ....more of a feel player myself, but my swing won't win any awards

OP, since your question specifically is regarding finding an instructor I won’t comment on the swing.

For a pro to work with, can’t go wrong with either Dan or Monte if looking for an online lesson.

Alternatively maybe you could ask someone you play with who they take lessons with and go from there. It’s important to find someone you click with so that they can be honest and that honest feedback can be taken on board. Ive seen people not click with instructors and then not take their feedback on board because of it. JMHO.

Maybe just start golfing again.

You got quite a few things going on. Any instructor should be able to get you going in the right direction.

Yea, I know most the teaching pro's around my area and they are all the type who manage a golf course and teach some lessons on the side. You won't get very far with them, I've taken lessons from them and they generally say looks good to me and give me some generic drill that they are working on. One guy had me using some weird device that had you cup your wrist on the back swing and then bow on the downswing. You get what you pay for as they are about $30 a lesson.

There is an instructor at a private country club near me that has helped some juniors who got really good and become top players at Uof I etc. I have tried contacting him for a couple years to take a lesson. The first time he responded that he was too busy and would have free time at the end of the golf season, since then I have been unable to get any response. He manages the country club and is dedicated to members and will help juniors so that is the reason.

Many of the good players I know in the area who took lessons would make a trip up to Chicago and see Jim Suttie and they generally had no complaints but I saw some negative reviews of him on this site so I never made the trip or spent the 200 for a lesson but I have been to a few other top rated ones in Chicago. At this point, I am pretty good at working on my own swing so maybe an online lesson will do. Was curious if anyone has had some good results lately with online or possibly an instructor to travel to?
