Best Lightweight Cart Bag

Did some searching through the threads, but couldn't find much in the way of topics on best lightweight cart bags. I ride probably 95% of the time with the rare occasion of using a push-cart (clicgear 3.5) when it's not ridiculously humid in the DC/MD/VA region. With that said, I'm interested in purchasing a lightweight cart bag since it seems like the 2020 models are starting to go on sale. Key needs: 14/15 full length club dividers, under 6.5 lbs for the pushcart, multiple pockets needed but nothing outrageous, and strap pass-through.

 

Some options I'm considering:

• Titleist Cart 14 Lightweight
• Wilson Nexus III and Xtra
• Callaway Chev 14
• Taylormade Supreme
• Sun Mountain Teton, Sync, and Phantom (may be a bit heavy)
• Cobra Ultralight
• Datrek DG Lite II

 

Anyone consider these bags recently and purchased one? If so, mind sharing your thoughts/feedback?

I've owned 2 Titleist Lightweight 14's over the last 10 years. 5 years a piece. Great, stylish bags with lots of pockets that all make sense. My current bag has valuable pockets that are a bit too small for my hands, but they've fixed it on the 2020 model. I also have a Clicgear 3.5 and it's no problem. You can get them now for around $180 shipped.

 

The SM Snyc, Callaway and TM Supreme are all highly rated too. IMO, you overlooked one and that's the Ping Pioneer. Different color ways and I'd be all over that one.

SM Sync would be good, or Phantom....the weight difference is negligible

I just sold my SM Phantom because it was too heavy (one of the reasons).  I have a friend who has the SM Sync that he pushes on a cart and likes it a lot.  The top is a little smaller than the Phantom and it is a little lighter.

Ping Traverse is an excellent bag that checks all your boxes.  Ping Pioneer is also a great bag--a little heavier than the Traverse.

I’ve got a 2020 Ping Pioneer that I think is great. I use it on a pull cart for the range and put it on gas cart the rest of the time. Very well thought out layout. Pockets up high, easy to use without having to bend down to use, with a place for the cart strap to go behind the pockets. 15 individual tubes, one of them oversized to handle a large putter grip. 2 magnetic pockets makes getting in and out of them easy. Stands up in its own even when filled up. There is a small hook on a strap inside one of the upper side pockets to hang your keys so they don’t get mixed in with the rest of your stuff. I can’t imagine a need that someone might have that hasn’t been incorporated into this bag.
