Ping BeCu Anser4 putter

Hi,

 

I'm looking for advice on how to restore the above mentioned putter to original condition. 

 

I'm not looking to shine it up using coke etc.

Ping may retumble it, which is the closest you would get to an original finish. 

 

BeCu starts out quite bright before the patina develops (but is never shiny or polished looking).

Could try a Harbor freight vibrating tumbler and some ceramic media. I’ve heard this does a pretty good job to replicate the original ping finish.

Ping will not retumble any BECU products. 

 

This was always one of my favorites.  I've restored several of these and some weight modifications too.  I removed dings first with small files, "if you have them" sand with 400, 1200, Clean with Bar keepers friend.  I really like a brushed finish on these and to get a nice uniform look.  I used the Scotch Brite fine (red) under running water very rapidly back and forth and in the same direction back and forth. 

 

I would post pictures of it but this was many years ago.  I do have some brushed pictures example though.

OP, I'm sure you're probably aware but please take care and use a respirator when performing any restoration process on these clubs that involves removing material i.e. filing/sanding/blasting etc.  Beryllium is a heavy metal, a known carcinogen, and harmful when inhaled.  I believe this is why Ping doesn't work on any BeCu clubs anymore.
