Just getting into this line and I’m curious i notice there are 2 different milling patterns 1 is across the whole face and other is centered? What’s the difference between these models is one or the other more highly sought after

Well one says "Tour Proto" so it will be like worth 50% more for zero reason 😂.

 

But seriously no there isn't a whole lot of difference in them minus the full face grooves vs center only grooves. The Tour Proto may not be as refined/finished but depends on model.

...actually I believe the Tour Protos were carbon steel vs 303. That is the main difference. Sik doesn't offer any carbon options at this time so despite what was said above, there may be more value to someone who prefers carbon.

I have a tour proto and it doesn't have any rust or any signs of rust on it. But this could also be a batch to batch variation when they made these. But honestly wouldn't matter what the material is with these grooves, they're deep and take out a lot of audible noise and feel.

Maybe a batch to batch or model to model variations -- I was basing it off of the Sho Tour Proto I have that was finished in their old black PVD so maybe thats the differentiating factor. I do agree, there is no difference in the full face grooves vs centered only -- same DLT.

 

OP should reach out to them on Instagram for more clarity as they seem to be most responsive there.

Yeah checked my head this morning and it is stainless but like you said OP should reach out to them and ask. I'm sure they'll be more than happy to answer that question.

Thanks for the follow up @icecat88honestly any SIK putter you get will be great, they roll so well and I don't think anything else compares and I've tried a lot of putters.

How does the Sik Pro compare to a Newport 2 or Answr head?  Seem heavier / chunkier in pics.  Can anyone provide a comparison?

Much thicker topline and not as soft on the edges plus heavier. 

 

Here is a SIK and Toulon San Diego. Unfortunately don't have them side by side.

Sorry to raise the dead.  I have an early tour C prototype in carbon.  Can’t find any info on it

Tour Prototype which just means made for someone but they don't list who. I had a LH one in stainless and it had the full face grooves and weight was 355g over 365g. 

 

Yours looks to be that but also being carbon as well.

Thanks for the info!!   Wish there was something out there on the net, but you’ll have that I guess.   The only prototypes I can find out there are SS and the lettering on the heel is outlined where this one is all milled.   Looks more in the lines with the KK putter he produced( 18-4-18)

I picked up a LH one a while ago from 2ndswing, was carbon steel for mine.

Sent it off to be copper plated.  To resist the carbon steel rusting
