Looking for a new bag...

I'm in the market for a new bag, and I am looking for a stand bag with 14 dividers. I like the Nike Air hybrid as well as the Ping Hoofer 14. I've seen bad reviews for the Hoofer saying that you can't get your clubs out without them getting snagged, but I'm wondering if maybe that's just if you have midsize or larger grips. Any opinions?

Do you want a stand bag for carrying, or just the convenience of a stand at the range, etc?  The reason I ask, is if carrying, I'd strongly recommend considering a 4 way bag.  They end up being considerably lighter.  14 dividers is overkill imo.

 

Regardless, the Hoofer does snag if take clubs in/out while stand is engaged.  You need to stand it vertically to exchange clubs.  If that sounds annoying then go with the Nike.

I wouldn’t be carrying, the only times I walk I use my pushcart, so that’s not necessarily an issue. So if i understand you correctly, the clubs come out fine when vertical like in a cart, but on the range if I was using the stand it’s a struggle to get the clubs out?

Sounds like an inconvenience but Nike doesn’t have the air hybrid in stock so my Pro couldn’t order one which is unfortunate so I’ll most likely go with Ping.

It’s a fantastic bag.  Before this I had a standard Hoofer, but got sick of the club tangle.  Never an issue with the Nike.

It’s a fantastic bag.  Before this I had a standard Hoofer, but got sick of the club tangle.  Never an issue with the Nike. 

 

Thank you very much for the input, I would love to get the Nike, but the problem is that they don't have them in stock at the moment, and I'm going to use Pro shop winnings on it, so my pro would not be able to order it. Might have to get a Ping, which isn't a terrible thing, but the Nike is preferable. Going to keep my eye out to see if Nike stocks them soon, but if not I'll likely go with a Hoofer.

Okay, DGW was the only place that seems to indicate that they have them.  I did not call or check, it may wrong.  It seems to me that shortly after introduction Nike quit selling them.  Maybe they didn't sell as many as they thought they would, but seems they gave up quickly or only had a limited run to begin with, I don't know.  I got mine at Morton golf and they don't even list any Nike bags.

 

It's a great bag, and when the time comes to replace it I'll be hard to find something as good.

They're still out there and pop up as available on nike.com periodically.  I think the manufacturer is just slow.

I have the Hoofer 14 and Titleist hybrid. Both are ok. The Nike hybrid is on another level. Better than anything I've used.

Having gone through about five or six bags in the last two years, just trying to find one that I like enough to keep, I think it’s worth the wait.
