Golftec Iron Fitting/Shaft testing

If you watch that channel and then go to a random fitter, chances are that fitter doesn't even watch TXG. 

 

I had a fitting done by Titleist Thursday event & I was not happy at all, told me I was losing distance by not switching to the T100S. I said isn't that because they're stronger lofted? I basically just walked away after that.

 

After that I booked another fitting with my club pro who has given me lessons in the past so he knows my swing and play style.

 

We hit the T100S that the Thursday fitter recommended and right away he just laughed at my 7 iron going 195-200 yards carry.

 

"You don't need to hit your 7 iron that far do you?" is what he said lol.

 

Ended up with T100, Project x 6.0 shafts. Honestly I liked the feel of the X100 better- but flight was better with the project X's. Didn't have the 6.5 to try but the 6.0 performs beautifully for me. 

 

Definitely agree. That's funny I actually mentioned TXG to him and didn't really know who they were. I don't think he had touched a golf club himself in a couple years to be honest, he got out of breath walking in and out of the room.

 

I think what I really learned was that unless you already have someone you trust to do a good job you kind of have to do it yourself. Just frustrating when you don't have access to that much since I'm somewhat new to golf.

I got an iron fitting when they had a promo going on over the summer. I previously played Apex Pro’s and I consider myself a pretty good iron player. Told the guy prior to the fitting I’m looking for a players iron and I’m not opposed to playing blades and I don’t care about gaining any distance.. I showed up and he had the T200, P790 and Mavrick Pros out for me. All he wanted to show me was ball speeds and carry distances. I got him to let me hit some P760s and liked those but I just was annoyed. Fitter was a good guy but didn’t listen to anything that I said I wanted to get out of the fitting so was just not thrilled with it.
