Srixon ZX7 vs Titleist T100/S Forgivness

Due to restrictions I can't get out and try these two, so just doing some research right now.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the difference of forgiveness in these two compared to each other. With the T100/S having more tungsten etc I would say it should be more forgiving however it is noticeably smaller/thinner so maybe not.

Mainly asking as a friend who is a plus capper and an excellent ball striker thought the T100 was too much club even for him, he said "it feels so much a designed for tour club I have to flush it perfect every time to properly use them"

So when I seen the new ZX7 they peaked my interest with them being in a similar vein. Anyone who has tried both, comments would be appreciated

IMO from me testing, I would say the Titleist is more forgiving.  I've been playing the Z785's for the last two years, and they have been pretty forgiving for the type of iron that it is.  I think the ZX7 is a little more demanding, smaller head, narrower sole.  I know it's not, but I kind of say the ZX7 is more like a blade, being disguised as a cb.  Once again, my opinion, I think the ZX7 plays closer to the Titleist 620 cb, except for the stronger lofts.  I'm pretty certain I'll be going to the ZX5's., possibly all thru the set. I play the T100S and given their size and shape I find them to be incredibly forgiving. I don’t miss my irons much heel to toe, my misses tend to be more vertical. They’re very good compared to other similar models on thin strikes. I play my 6 iron to gap wedge 2* weak, same lofts as the T100. The extra tungsten out in the toe, the lower offset and extra bounce has been good for me. At the top end I play the 5 iron standard and 4 iron 2* strong, just to space the gaps out at the top end.

I agree with this 100%.  The t100s has been really good for me.

Just had a fitting and it came down to these two heads.  For me, the ZX7's were way more forgiving with off-center strikes.  ZX7's also produced a slightly higher launch (and carried a solid 5-7 yards further than the T100S), which is what I was seeking.  As far as shaft goes, I ended with the Nippon Modus 120 (stiff).  Tried to like the Project X 6.0 LZ, but that shaft just required too much manipulation to load it right.  Nippon felt pretty natural.

Full disclosure, I went into the fitting really wanting a set of T100S irons.  I tried as hard as I could to end there, but the numbers just didn't support it.  Can't overstate the importance of finding a way to either try the various combos before buying or getting set up with a proper club fitter.

I have both.  ZX7s are easier to hit.  Agree with the previous post (esp. heal to toe).  Both feel great and have plenty of pop.

The T100s are great but I think they are just bit more intimidating visually.  However, they are plenty forgiving for an iron in this category.  I think the feel of the T100s is fantastic and may be better then the ZX7 IMO.

The T100 so far for me has been surprisingly forgiving.

Also more of a vertical miss vs a heel to toe miss on strike, but I've been baffled at how easy they've been to control so far.

Might be a shaft issue, but I've hit the ZX7 a few times and could never seem to actually hit a good shot. Probably in my head.

Im not a fan of the “this iron should be played by this handicap range troupe”, that being said if your friend is actually a plus handicap golfer and finds the T100 too demanding, just wow.  He must have tour level driver, chipping, and putting stats.

The T100 is not difficult to hit at all.  I think the forgivenesses is similar between them and the ZX7‘s, but the Srixons are better through the turf for me.
