Scotty Cameron: TW US Open Edition. Real or fake?

Just wondering if this is authentic?

Just some red flags when he sent this picture of the headcovers that I can choose from, which look fake to me.

Just a little bit of time on google would tell you it’s clearly a fake.  That circle T cover is a fake.

Wow, that TourSpec article mentions the following... “Very Expensive!...Now enter the Tiger woods U.S Open 2002 GSS Replica putter and for only a meer 25,000 USD it can be yours.  Everything is setup as Tiger’s putter should be except the only difference is the special stamping on the sole unlike Tiger’s model that sports a smooth blank area. ”

(photo in that TourSpec article also shows a serial-number stamped in Red , on the sole... which OP’s photo DOESN’T seem to have similar serial-number?)

I did some googling and a bunch of different versions, commemorating his major wins appear;

This is why I posted, to confirm real/fake.

 

As for the putter cover, it doesn't appear to be fake as all the stitching is fantastic. I have been sent some other pictures of the head cover, would that help? or are you certain it is fake?

 

I am purchasing it for $2,200 AUD - it has been used, hence the decrease in price.

I initially thought I got the GSS model, my mouth hit the floor then I unfortunately realised it wasn't the GSS edition.

Every example you posted are of the same fakes.  Look at the TourSpec pictures and compare to your putter.  The circle T cover has threads connecting the T to the circle.  And the cover is not typical SC quality.  Even after lots of use you dont get a lot of loose threads.

And you have to ask yourself, why would some one sell you a north of $20,000 USD putter for $1700 USD.  Now that you have it would you do the same?

Fair point on the putter cover, that was my main concern. I wasn't too fussed about the cover, I was focused on the putter. Kinda sucks that the putter cover isn't authentic but oh well, just a beater cover.

He said to his knowledge it is authentic, purchased it from someone at his club.

Putter is real. CT cover is a certain fake. CTs in wrong locations and Titleist script in the wrong spot too. Grinder cover might be real.

Happy the putter is real, that was my main concern. 

 

Shame about the putter cover but I will just use it as a beater head cover.
