Thoughts on Adidas Terrex for golf?

I’m wondering if anybody has tried Adidas Terrex Boost shoes like these hikers or these trail runners on the golf course?

 

I love Boost but for me, Codechaos and the Crossknit DPRs didn’t have anywhere near enough of it, compared to something like the 2019-2021 versions of Ultraboosts. The Adidas Vice golf shoes looked like exactly what I’d like to find ... unfortunately they’re not available to buy for less than like $600 on StockX. 
 

The Terrex shoes have the Boost I’m looking for, seem to have good traction, and look like they have heel counters for stability.
 

Just wondering if anyone has tried them? Or, anything about them that you think would make them poorly suited for golf?

I have the boots for hiking and I couldn’t ever imagine wearing them for golf. They don’t have much lateral support.

Your first link isn't the Boost you're looking for.  The midsole is from the SolarBoost.  That midsole appears to have more Boost, but the midsole is more concave, so you are lower to the ground than you'd think you'll be.  This means less Boost under you feet and a firmer ride altogether.

 

I've never tried the second link, so don't know about those.

 

The Crossknit 2.0/3.0 have the exact same Boost midsole as the UltraBoost 1.0-6.0. I find those to be just as good as their UB counterparts.  I haven't tried the Crossknit DPR, but that midsole has clearly been changed.  Given adidas' track record when changing the Boost, it's probably not at the same level of comfort.  

 

IMO, the best UB in terms of comfort are the 19 and 20, but besides the Vice golf shoes, I don't think they ever made another.  One option is you can wear regular golf shoes and replace the insoles with Hefe Luxx insoles.  They are Boost-like insoles made with the same TPU material.  Just a warning.  They will make the shoes fit smaller.  https://hefeluxx.com/pages/comfort-insoles

 

 

Just a personal gripe, but the UB 21 is the worst UB ever made.  It looks like it has the biggest stack of Boost, but its super concave and the Boost is far stiffer than any other UB.  They keep trying to live up to their moniker of the "Ultimate Running Shoe", when they just add a ton of Boost which doesn't add to comfort, but it certainly does add to the weight.  It's the heaviest running shoe on the market.  The Nike Invincible Run out-Boosted the UB21, but those are damn ugly.

Thanks, this is an extremely helpful post. I’m gonna grab a pair of Crossknit 3.0s and give them a shot. They were like $70 on Amazon in my size, so might as well!

 

I haven’t owned the UB 2021s yet — assumed they were just a step up from 2019 and 2020, which were awesome, even though most of my collection is 1.0s.
