Miura MB-101 or MC-501

Switch over to MB irons last year - Best decision ever. 

 

Currently using Srixon Z Forged but planning to order a set of Miura irons.

 

Unable to test Miura irons before ordering.

 

Would like to get feedback from WRXers as to which of the two Miura irons mentioned above will be a good transition from Z Forged.

 

Any input will be much appreciated.

You can’t go wrong, but here’s my vote:

 

MC-501, given the turf interaction you are accustomed to with z-forged. The Y-grind sole on the MC-501 will feel natural, and you’ll enjoy the added playability compared to the MB-101s. The MC’s look and feel equally as tight and compact as well. 

I have MC-501s, TC-201s, and Baby Blades. Gamers are MC-501s. Best all-around clubs in the lineup (performance, forgiveness, turf interaction, etc).

If you’re happy with the Z forged I’d stick with them. IMO they’re more forgiving than both models you mentioned and on top of that the 501 have a lot of offset unless you find a unicorn low offset set (only ever seen two and one was a tour issue set I had). The MB101 are unbelievable feeling but so opposite to the ZF in terms of turf interaction it’s unreal. They also have a pea sized sweet spot. Don’t get me wrong - I loved them. But they take more precision to get the most out of them. The ZF frankly behave like a lot of small forged CBs on the market. I’ve owned all 3 and although the 101 are probably the best looking blades ever, I’d buy a set of ZF plus a backup set rather than buying a set of either Miura simply because of the V sole making life better. 
 

Here’s a vid of me hitting a dart with the 101. The feel is addictive but I’m getting much better performance out of my current set.

Fantastic. You just saved me a few grands. I will perhaps stick with ZF for now and wait for next year's blade release from Srixon.
