Cleveland Wedges

Great forum guys. You guys really know what you're talking about. For you Cleveland guys out there, does "TG" stamped on the hosel of a wedge really mean the club was tour issued? I've also seen Cleveland wedges that do not have the Cleveland insignia "C" on them. What about those? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

"TG" is a tour issued wedge and it stands for "Tour Grind" Definetly tour, there are TSC wedges that are not, those are retail issued "Tour Satin Chrome." I have never heard of a "CG" stamped on a hosel. Is it handstamped? There are "RC" wedges thare were hand ground by Rgoer Cleveland. Also any cleveland wedge with bounce angle dots that is NOT a CG10 will be tour, ie. 588, 900's. The CG10 tours will have white dots, not marroon (retail.) Some have a "T" stamped on the hosel which signifies the head is shaped like the 588 models. If the dots are blue it is supposed to be Japan PGA tour, and yellow or gold is retail Japan models. There are also CG10's that have "Tour Offset" stamped on the back, those are tour issued wedges that have different offsets.

 

All these markings are still not the final say. I have 2 cleveland wedges that are tour but have no tour markings. They are handground and have killer tour box grooves but none of the usual stampings.

the tg IS the tour version.. they moved to tg stamped when roger left. when he was there they were stamped rc .. i have a 56 and a 60 with the rc stamp on them... both hand ground by them man.
