Ping Driver Opinions...G2 or G5???

Thinkin of making the switch...

The topic and description are pretty explanatory. I've heard that the G2 is hotter (some say too hot?)....any and all opinions appreciated

working in a golf store, i've personally heard from a ping rep that the difference is very very minimal. he said about 4 yds difference. the G5 basically came out to complete the entire G5 club series and he said that it wasn't much of an upgrade and if someone had the G2 theydidn't need to get the G5.....but honestly NEED isn't a factor for club ho's :)

I have the g2 and hit the G5 with the same shaft. No difference to me. I'd save the money and go with the g2

I've hit both Ping drivers myself. The G5 is a huge improvement. Trajectory is more consistent without the occasional upshoots I experienced with the G2.

I tried my G2 7 degree with an X NV against a newer G5 7.5 degree with an X NV as well. The G5 was easier to work the ball than the G2 was. The G5 was very slightly longer producing less spin and seemed to hang in the air longer than my G2. Very subtle but positive differences for me so I went for the G5 for a little over a $100 with the G2 trade in.
