Ping Karsten II date info needed

I can’t find a ton of info about these Roman marked irons. I was hoping for a little leading edge relief but they are sharp like karsten I. Any idea on production year of these?  Gonna play a round tomorrow with no warmup. I’ll report back with results.

Looks like you have a mixed set.  The 9 iron and PW have traditional markings rather than Roman markings.  Do the serial numbers match?

9 iron is different by one digit on the serial number

Believe that's how the Roman numeral KII's came. The 1 - 8 irons had the Romans (note the IIII vs. IV), and the 9 and W were traditionally marked.  Again IIRC, this was short lived with the initial release of the KII's before reverting to traditional numbering.  The other thing I've noticed, the Roman numeral ones seem to predominately be LH sets.  Not sure if that's exclusively though.

Call ping.  Give them the serial # and they will tell you the original manufacture date and specs.   Karsten II’s were manufactured in 1977-1984.  The Roman numerals are very cool.

Never knew they did Roman numerals, look fantastic. I've got the Karsten 1s, made in 1982 so they were one of the last of the original karstens to be made before the eye 2s hit the world. I do enjoy getting them out as they still feel and perform very well. Enjoy them, look great
