Been playing the CB’s since last August…fabulous forged irons. Love the Stealth Plus driver and Sim2 Fwy/Hyb, WS wedges are a tad lighter than Vokey but play virtually the same.  The Triad ball is amazing…and with temperatures above 70 degrees it has an extra gear. I’m 59 and fighting for every yard I can get/keep…the last thing I want is to tee it forward. I work at Edwin Watts in Savannah and I’m a Wilson Staff Ambassador…tough life after 26 years in the military but somebody has to do it. WS is kitting me with new D9 Forged irons in 4-GW w/Recoil Dart 75R next month…that’s gonna be fun!

Great WITB.  Judging from the headcovers and bag tags, you have had a chance to play a number of great courses.

Interesting. Do you game both the 56 and 58 at the same time? Are they adjusted to more like 55 / 59?  Always good to see some WS in play!

Thanks to a 26 year career in the military I had some special opportunities. My top ten I’ve played in the USA would be Pacific Dunes, Old MacDonald, Whistling Straits, Blackwolf Run, Harbour Town, Kiawah Ocean Course, Chambers Bay, Wolf Creek, & TPC Snoquamie Ridge. Top ten in the UK would be Gleneagles Kings Course, Sunningdale Old/New, Walton Heath Old/New, Woodhall Spa, Royal Aberdeen, Hunstanton, Woburn, Woodbridge, Sheringham, St Andrews New/Jubilee. I also played Royal St George’s and the Old Course at St Andrews but both were just meh.

I am trying to convince reps at Wilson to bring out a 54* in the tour grind with 8* of bounce (like a Vokey 5408M grind). Their current 54* has a narrow sole and 11* of bounce, not really a good combo…most recreational golfers that carry a 54 use it for pitches and chips like a 52* gap wedge, very seldom have I seen an amateur golfer hit a strong SW out of a bunker.

Nice stuff but ha ha with that screen name I expected a set of 67 Mac blades. One of my fellow club members plays a similar set or Staffs and he is a pretty decent stick.

I agree with you on the part about a strong sand wedge. Outside these forums most folks do not know how to utilize any SW to it's potential. Yep I can not fathom a narrow sole with that much bounce. I would have to see one in person to try to figure it out.

I did play MacGregor for almost 20 years; VIP Tour CB92, MACTEC 685, VIP 1025m tour issue (still have them plus 27 MacGregor classic persimmon woods in my living room). Since MacGregor’s demise I played Mizuno MP57, MP67, and Cobra Fly Z Forged +…the first version of the King Tour MIM. The Wilson Staff CB is the first forged iron I’ve played that felt on par with the 1025m…which was the best Mac ever made. I have a set of JNP in 1-PW/SW that I would love to have played but by the time I got them I had lost too much swing speed and couldn’t do anything with the 1-3 irons. But they are amazing sticks and the old style v-grooves will work with a modern ball such as a TP5.
