Getting out to Monarch Beach today in Dana Point. Should be beautiful weather. This will be my first time playing there

Anything I should know about the place from a course management standpoint?

Decent but pretty tight course (most of the holes). For the second hole, play down the left center, everything feeds to the right. Don't try to cut the corner unless you can carry it 270-300. The third hole - the only ocean view hole - is really short, shorter than you think. Aim towards bunkers that are right center. The rest of the course is WYSIWYG. Once you start to turn and go through housing development it's mainly benign.

Thanks for the tips guys. Had a blast out there. What a course! Agree that the back is a bit more "meh" than the front, but conditions were great especially coming from Geln Ivy in Corona which is falling apart from disease. Hope to get back out again some day
