Has anyone played a combo set with something a touch more forgiving I the long irons (4 & 5)?  If so what do you go with?

The TC201 is the standard set that you combo with, you can even got 4/5/6 TC201, 7-PW 502

I run 502s from 5-pw w/ MMT 125 TX and have t200  4 iron with a ventus hb 10x. The T200's topline is thin enough for my liking, I just bent it a bit weak to match the set.

How do these compare in size and forgiveness to the Mizuno mp5's? which were labelled a 'forgiving blade'. I've enjoyed mine for 6 years now so fancy a change, these have peaked my interest!

Have you tried LA golf L series shafts?  I was in club champion doing wood fitting and was messing around at the end.  Was spinning the 502s with $ taper 130s too much.  Knocked off 600rpms and picked up 10+ yards of distance with the shaft swap in the 6 iron

Not sure I want to drop 2k to reshaft the 502s but the numbers were so much better i might bite the bullet.

 

im around 100-102 ss with a 6 iron 
 

 

Did you do it? I have mmt 125tx in mc 502s but thinking of putting in l series 06 TX

I have not.  Made a couple tweaks to the swing that have improved numbers a bit and just had 2nd kid so not a ton of time to get out there.  I had some elbow pain as well that has peaked my interest in the iron shafts.  
 

I also tried to oban 125 when I was in the CC.  That was a spicy shaft and more consistent than the kbs but think I’d still go LA if given the choice between the two.  Seeing now you have the mmt 125.  I don’t believe I tried them, if I did they were unremarkable. I tried the heaviest axiom X and didn’t like feel or the numbers.

 

I asked my fitter if he could get the LA golf shaft to do compare contrast so maybe can do a session in the next month or so.  He also Carrie’s the MMT so I can report back if I get out there
