Here is my on course and range review:

There are fractionally the best blades I’ve ever played. The differences come in better feel and looks than any other blades I’ve played, which I played from 2009 until mid 2022.

These are not the best iron I’ve ever played. If you’ve ever played any players iron with any tungsten or level of forgiveness then these are not comparable. The difference from these to my T100’s are night and day. A heel or toe shot with these lose you about 5 yards, and a thin shot loses you about 10 yards in the air. This is versus the T100’s you’re giving up 2-3 yards heel or toe, and 5 yards on a thin shot. There no question for me I’m a lower handicap player with the added forgiveness.

for reference I’m a +1 and here was a session with about 20 shots from a 5 iron

Thanks for the post!

I bite the bullet and ordered a set.  I had a set of 2021 t100 that I bought after playing a round with a friends 2019 t100s.  Loved the 2019 and how it interacts with the turf, hated the 2021.

on a whim picked up a set of 7-9 620 mbs and started hitting the ball well.  Was going to go with a full set of those but these (502) caught my eye and looked a touch more playable.  Look forward to getting them in hand.

I just did a gapping session with my fitter now that the clubs are built up.

I’ll echo the comments above that for a blade they feel amazing and that thin strikes were punished the worst for me (much more than slight toe or slight heel). The gapping session was indoors on a mat which always has me hitting a little thin, so will be curios to see how often those thin shots happen on course.

went to see fitter because I needed a heavier shaft in my 201s I got 1.5 years ago and really liked. I also tried the 501s at that time and was like meh don’t need help with launch

he wanted me to hit the 502 just to see and oh my goodness what a difference. 2mph faster ball speed on a 6 iron and the feel was INCREDIBLE. changed my shaft from modus 120x to $ taper 130

hit the mb101 afterwards and was like meh I could see why people like it but much more solid / hard vs the 502 the was powerful / soft

to me the 502 is much softer in and around the sweet spot.  The 201 to me was more harsh.  Gaming them, I never knew if I caught it flush or missed it slightly because it just seemed like the feel wasn’t super rewarding on the 201s. Not the case with the 502s.  If I had to guess the sweet spot is larger on the 502s

Probably going to have the 201s up on BST to upgrade

I hit my 502's today and in my opinion, there is a night and day difference between the 502's and the 201's. I'd describe the feel of these irons as "addicting". I just wanted to hit ball after ball with them...

Agree with this 100% having come from 201's.

2mph more ball speed on the 502 vs 201 with the same shaft? Or was some of that the shaft change?

Same shaft.  I had modus 120x in my 201s.  Went through fitting to test modus 125 S, X and $ taper 130 in a 201 head.  $ tapers won out on feel and numbers.  Swapped the 502 head onto same $ taper shaft.  Im waiting for the fitter to send me the flightscope details but will post once i get

I ordered an MC-502 8 iron with an Oban 125X- shaft, D4 swing weight just to test. I have now tested it against my current gamer Callaway Apex Pro '19 8 iron with Steelfiber i110 S shaft that I have played for past few years. Ended up picking up 5 mph more ball speed (119 mph versus 114) and half the std deviation on dispersion (left/right) and half std deviation on carry distance with the Miura. This was my first time hitting a Miura, but didn't really make sense that numbers were so much better.

Did some more checking of my current Callaway set and appears they were built with a C7 swing weight, so wondering if I just swing heavier swing-weighted clubs better and it is not because the Miuras are actually better...but probably not going to stop me from buying the rest of the set 🤣

You will love the Miura compared to the feel of those Apex Pro….  Night and day.

could be swing weight …. Shaft weight…. May just be finding center more with one than the other…

Could be the lie angle of one vs the other….sometimes just go with it… if it works.

C-7 if feather light, surprised you can even feel the head on the downswing.  Callaway build these?

Miura swingweight should be a minimum of D-2 but most are D-3 to D-4

Yes, Callaway built them. I hadn't golfed seriously for 20+ years (except for the odd customer tournament). In 2020, started taking lessons and got fitted for new clubs, so I probably didn't know any better when I received them. I have decreased my cap from 14+ to <5 since 2020 and iron game is the best part of my game, but dispersion (especially long/short) was always a challenge.

My test Miura iron is spot on D4 (which is what I asked for when I ordered) and it feels so much better. Can actually feel where the head is, my rhythm feels better (easier) and my typical left miss is gone.

All the other posters are correct, the MC-502 is addicting, I can't stop hitting it...so ordered the rest of the set with same shaft combo. Can't wait for the snow to be gone...in 5 months!

They are in and look better in person that pictures.

Hit them for the first time today at the range….mostly off mats but I did hit a couple off turf.  Does anyway else have a tendency to hit balls thin off mats?  Of turf I has hitting the ball about as well and I can.  Off the mats I was a few grooves low most of the session

Re: Hitting it thin on a mat, I think it depends on the mat. I have found that it happens more on the harder mats with shorter irons. Maybe it is like hitting a high bounce wedge off hard pan? hard to make great contact? I have a "real-feel" mat in my home sim and it is fairly realistic, which means it is extremely punishing on fat shots.

After having more time to hit them, can anyone compare these to the MC-501s? I know the 502 toe is rounded and the offset has been reduced dramatically, but has the feel, forgiveness, launch, or turf interaction changed dramatically? Could a mid-single digit get away with playing these?

I just ordered a combo set of the 201's in the 4-6 and MC502's in 7-PW with Steelfiber 125x's.  I was torn if I should do all 502's but thought the added forgiveness on the longer irons would be helpful.  Coming from full set of MB101's with KBS $ Tapers 130's.  Love the shaft but got terrible elbow pain.  My buddy has a combo set of 201's and 101's and he loves the 201's so much he was thinking about going full set.  Surprised to hear people saying the feel was "harsh".  Has me wondering if I should change my order to all 502's.

They don’t feel harsh they’re super soft. The feel is a bit different than some other Miura models in that it isn’t as dense because mass is moved heel and toe. They’re some of the softer/most satisfying irons I’ve ever hit. Played them all last year and wore them out pretty good. Should’ve kept them.

Anyone hit these after coming from 501s?  I’ve seen some of the YouTube reviews but would be curious to hear from someone that actually gamed 501s and upgraded to the 502.  Curious if they’re as forgiving/easy to hit or if the changes such in offset/camber/etc upped the ante.

I am interested in this as well since I am currently playing the 501 and debating if it’s worth the switch.

I have just bought a set of 502 irons having played with Miura now for 15 years - two sets of blades TB and MB001 and what were a short lived set of 501s . They 502s are addictive I didn't want to leave the range. Great feel to this set ..They also look beautiful (to my eye). They feel solid and although somewhat reluctantly I have moved away from bladed irons these are close to perfect.

Sad to say I think I am going to sell my 502s.  Beautiful irons and feel incredible.  My ball striking is just not anywhere close to where it needs to be to game these.  Went in a different direction and got i230s.  [removed]

Same here.  I’ve played a few sets of blades over the years and these are the toughest to hit.

Wow, not encouraging to hear. Mine are being built right now locally for pickup mid week…played with 501s last season, and was hoping these are on par with forgiveness and ease of use.

I’ve never hit the 501s, but imagine if you hit those well you will hit the 502s well.

I’m comparing them to mp32’s, z forged, blueprints, and 620 mb.

I have the 5 - PW with Oban 125 X- shafts and they are incredibly solid. On the launch monitor, actually hit them a bit further than my old 19' Apex Pros, but might just be a better shaft/swing weight combo.

The i230 are awesome. Completely different type of club than the MC502.

I am putting the Fourteen TC7, i230, i59, and Apex TCB against my MC501 this coming spring for the gamer spot.

while I am tempted by the 502…. May have to wait till they drop a little in price on BST.
