Good budget golf trip options within 8 hours of Sacramento?

Looking to plan a trip with 1 friend in March of '23. I am not sure the budget but looking to stay 2-3 nights somewhere and play 3 or 4 rounds. Last year we went to monterey and played poppy, blackhorse, and the hay. Pretty budget friendly as the whole trip was under $400 or $450.

This year I was looking at Vegas, Palm Springs, or another Monterey trip. The courses in Vegas and Palm Springs in march seem a bit pricey though. Is there quality golf there in the $75-$150 range?

Seems like Bandon is all booked up, even if we wanted to drop the coin. Bend/Tahoe will still be cold.

I would look into the central coast like Solvang/Nipomo/SB areas or Moorpark.

You could actually start in Moorpark, play Rustic Canyon ($50), then make your way back north and hit up a variety of the below based on budget/time.

Sandpiper, Glen Annie, La Purisima, Alisal Lake course, Monarch Dunes.

You could also hit up Yocha Dehe on the way home in Brooks.

I have played a lot of golf in Vegas  I can tell you there is no quality golf in March in the lower end of your price range. You may find something at 150 if you don't mind playing in the afternoon when the afternoon rate kicks in.  You may find some value in playing twice in a day at a course using their replay rate. Paiute has a golf package that is 2 rounds and lunch for $309 Mon-Thur  $ 369 Fri-Sun in March. I am playing 6 rounds in 4 days Thanksgiving week and it costing me almost a grand.

There is no golf in Tahoe in March. The season does not start until mid May for the better courses.

$309 for two rounds isn't terrible but certainly would add up quick when doing multiple days. I don't mind playing in the afternoon though, I don't think march afternoons are too hot in vegas right?

Afternoons should be quite nice in March as most of my Vegas golf trips have been in March. If you want to play later in the day to save money the best advice I can give you is to go after the clocks spring forward on March 12th to get that extra hour of daylight.

Also pay attention for random tee times that are discounted. I am playing Bears Best on Nov 23rd and I have been watching the tee times twice a day and a couple of days ago they discounted the 10:00am slot by $69.00 so I jumped on it.

You can add Cypress Ridge (near Monarch Dunes) and Hunter Ranch in Paso Robles to that list.

Don't miss out on Soule Park in Ojai. Incredibly budget friendly and one of my favorite courses; the renovation by Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner is a crash course in basic golf architecture. Highly, highly recommend.

Morro Bay is also another neat golf course. Right on the coast with views of the Pacific (not like Sandpiper though), it is usually in good condition but slow...

I would throw in Ojai Valley Inn depending on rates
