Just signed up for a month as well. Definitely goes against all the Mickelson "tips" I've always tried to incorporate. I realize Mickelson has amazing hands and timing, which I don't have. Hopefully I'll be able to gain so much more consistency.

Find his shorts pretty useful - concept isn't over complicated and he explains it well.     I found the first few videos I watched super helpful in getting back to basics i've forgotten about.

I like Parker's short game teaching a lot and have been working on his basic pitch method for the past couple of weeks.  That said, I don't think there is a bigger misunderstanding in the short game than Phil's "hinge and hold" method.  I have Phil's videos on DVD and he isn't "holding" anything.  He hinges the club on the way back, and releases it and returns it to neutral (club head in a straight line with his arm) at impact.  What Phil means by "hold" is maintaining that straight line of clubhead and lead arm past impact (i.e. clubhead doesn't pass the hands - no throw or flip).  He's using the bounce.

 

I think Parker's method is easier for the average player to pick up and be successful with.  If you get the setup right and use the pivot to move the club back and through, it's hard to hit a poor shot with it.

I've had the best two rounds short game wise in the last 5 years after hitting about 100 chips a few days a week using this method.  I fully trust my motion and trust being able to use the ground / bounce of the wedge to produce the shot I want.   My buddy that I play with often mentioned multiple times this is the best he's seen me around the greens which is reassuring.   Paying for the month subscription for Parkers info is well worth it if your on the short game struggle bus.
