TX vs X65

I'm currently playing a 10.5 Stealth + turned down to 8.5.  With an X 65 Aldila stock shaft. 

 

Swing speed is low 120s and consistently get into the low 180 ball speeds.  My best hit balls are baby draws, low spin, club path is 3-5* right. 

 

My miss is a big hook or straight pull.  I tried a heavy shaft during fittings but it didn't seem to help much.  I just cant seem to open the face, it just slams closed. 

 

I've never played off a TX - has anyone had a similar issue and jumped out of a higher stiffness and did it help to open the face.  I don't want to lose the draw but need it opening a little better.

Honestly, some lead tape was an easy fix for me in this situation

I hate to say it, but moving from an X to a TX isn't going to fix ball flight issues. You're going to have to dig this one out of the dirt. TX is way more a feel thing than anything.

Yeah, X & TX generally heave almost identical profiles with the TX having slightly lower torque which gives a slightly firmer "feel". Find the cause of the directional issues in your swing and work on that.
