Removing the shaft in a Wilson Staff JP wedge

I have almost melted the wedge head. The epoxy is totally burnt up. The head will not move. Does anyone know if  they used screw on shafts? 
The model I have is maybe late 80s.

They didn't use screws.  I've had the same experience with FG-17 heads, from the same time period.  Some come off easily and some just get stuck.  You might have to cut the shaft and drill it out of the hosel.  This is very frustrating and I don't know why it happens sometimes.  I've ruined several shafts that I had planned to re-use.

I recently fought with and removed a 70's 3i Wilson shaft. Not a screwed shaft, nor was it pinned. The tip is crimped! This seems to allow it to be "bathed" in about a 1/2 inch of mo' epoxy. If your Wilson is like this one, you'll need to apply more heat, nearer this crimped section of the shaft, for it to come loose. Good luck.

You need a lock-Tight Shaft clamp (golfworks.com) and vise. Attach the clamp to the shaft and tighten in vice. Heat more toward the bottom of the hosel.and you may actually need to hit the head to get it to twist off. Rubber or wooden mallet works. Some can be a real pain to deal with. Turn the head clockwise to try and remove or tap that direction. It will come loose eventually. I ran across a really good video showing a guy doing that very thing. Google Staff Dynapower head removal and you should be able to find it.

they are a complete nightmare to take the shaft out and to reshaft, unless you absolutely have to leave it. 

 

may want to drill out the hosel some before reshafting, I did and it worked, didnt seem to change the swingweight much to my own hands. I never measured it
