How do mixed tee competition work in England?

Mixed tee competition where some tee it off from the back tees and some chose to use forward tees are still uncommon in England. We would like to get to this point at our club but I am not quite sure how that would actually work with the English version of the WHS. England Golf (and i assume CONGU) have adopted the WHS but with an exception in how the playing handicap is calculated.

In the rest of the world you use 
 

Course Handicap = Handicap Index * (SLOPE/113) + (Course Rating - Par)

 

In England you only use

 

Course Handicap = Handicap Index * (SLOPE/113)

 

The course rating - par is only taken into account when the handicap index is calculated (the Score Differential).

 

On our Par72 course we’ve got the white tees (our longest tees) rated at 70.7 with a slope of 129. And we have the shortest tees (Blues) with a course rating of 67 and a slope of 114.

 

So the whites play 3.7 shots harder than the blues yet when you look at the handicap difference it is only 2 shots. 

A 14 index would have a course handicap of 16 off the whites and 14 off the blues. Or 15 and 13 for the playing handicap.

 

That means the person playing the blues has to shoot 2 shots better than the one playing off the whites to score the same Stableford points. But as we’ve seen above the whites play 3.7 shots harder than the blues so they should not be ranked the same in a competition.

 

 

Will the software (we use Inteligent golf) apply the course rating - par adjustment and show the Score Differential as done in the MyEG app as the Stableford scores won’t be comparable.

 

If you would apply the course rating - par for the calculation of the course handicap you actually end with with 15 for the whites and 9 for the blues. A difference of 6 shots! That doesn’t look right either.

You can use the WHS as it was designed. Works phenomenally for mixed tees. I play with a senior that plays the gold tees every time out. WHS in America takes care of it quite equitably.

it is in stableford from multiple tees .
