Why would the guy stand right around the corner where he cant see the players tee off? If you going to stand in an area where you cant visibly see the tee shots then atleast move out of the landing area. It did suck for tiger cause his shot wouldnt of ended up too bad. Instead its now 50ft in the desert. It really is amazing how many people stand in the landing area but dont watch the players hit their drives.

I was there today and I'll tell you that it's not easy picking up a drive from 300 hundy out even when you are trying to watch the ball.

BTW Tigers drive on 17 was friggen huge. He flew it 310-315 and it rolled out to 334. Didn't get the huge amout of roll people claim from these Tour Events. The fairways were not really that hard and fast. I got the yardage from the shotlink guy next to the fairway.

Part of the risk of being there... and even though one would be the nice and polite thing, I wouldn't even consider an apology mandatory. Provided I wasn't really hurt and therefore unable to do so, I'd probably make a joke of it if I was apologized to and it seemed like the pro felt bad about it-- "Eh, takes more than that to crack this hard head." "Well, sorry I didn't give you a better bounce!" I'm sure my husband, if hit, would probably be like, "Dude, I told ya, you were supposed to hit MY WIFE!! Sheesh..." :black eye:

OT but Tig doest like alot of roll...just something I read once. When they do roll its due to elevation and sloop, he likes to get it out there and to stick with his driver. When he wants roll he uses the stinger....just fyi.

thats crap, he should have gave the guy more than a sweaty glove. why not give him a couple c notes, like he is going to miss it. if it wasnt for the spectators watching then there wouldnt be the huge purses at the end of the tournament. fans make the sport what it is. take care of them. i mean come on, the guy was bleeding.

I'm thinking if he thought the glove was not enough, he could put it on Ebay and get more than a "couple of c notes" for a bonk on the head.

here's what I think....if it wouldn't have hit that guy it would have cleared the corner and not ended up in the dessert.....if you wanna watch then you're in play

Exactly what I thought! That ball was in the fairway until...! Besides if they're going to stand in the line of fire they should wear helmets or some kind of head gear. Especially if Tiger's on the tee! :black eye:

I thought I read somewhere that Mickelson hit someone with a ball and gave him an autographed glove with a couple of Benjamin's in it... I would be happy with an apology.

That was at Doral. He actually hit and broke the guy's wrist watch, ence the few $$$.

i'm pretty sure Phil took off his Rolex and gave it to the guy.

If I got hit by a ball, I would expect nothing, If Tiger or whoever handed me something, I would gladly accept it. Nobody owes anyone anything for hittting them with a tee shot. Plenty of people have been hit and received nothing. Geez, if I knew I would get a new car every time I got hit, I would be positioning myself at the corners of the doglegs every tournament. Now how does this work? Tiger has a lot of money, Oh so he is suppose to give it away, ah, got it. Hey he looked at me kind of funny when I was watching him on t.v. and that upset my feelings, he owes me at least 100k. Hey he hurt my feelings. C'mon check in, Tiger didn't owe the man he hit anything. The autographed glove was above and beyond what is expected. Granted guys like Phil are very generous, that doesn't mean everybody has to be that way.

I will say that it is pretty difficult to pick up a little white sphere from 300 yards away, especially as fast as these guys hit it. Just go to a PGA tourney some time and watch how the ball takes off even for the lesser golfers on tour. If you don't know where or how to follow a golf ball, you don't stand a chance of seeing it by the time it reaches you. And frankly, many times, many people at these tournaments are busy talking or doing something entirely different than watching.

Not me.

Surviving a grizzly bear attack makes a great story too, but I'll give it a miss... :D

Phil gave him a couple $100 bills.

Nothing more.

That rolex could have been worth more than $10,000.

Save that autograph sweaty used golf glove. That's going to be worth something, especially signed by TW. Used game balls, used shoes, used gloves are worth more than brand new never worn autographed stuff.

Better yet, when you try to sell it, tell them that was one of the gloves he used to win WGC and pass Arnold Palmer for 4th place on All-time wins on the PGA tour.

I doubt it was even a "sweaty" glove...

He seems to use a fresh glove every hole... Stevie is always digging into his pocket and pulling out a crisp white glove...

and Im with "most" of the others on here... Youre on the course... you need to know, you "might" get hit...

Do you expect any differnt when your playing your self? its part of the game... just like getting a soccer ball in the nose... or a tennis ball in your "jewels"

I cant even believe someone would expect more??? OP, you sound like someone "waiting" to be run over so you can "sue" and be set for life...
