Snap Hooks and Impure Striking

I’ve been playing golf for about 2 years and average about low 90s per round. I normally hit a slight draw with irons and driver but haven’t been able ti get my swing tuned in a while. Been struggling with snap hooks and just no pure striking. Any help?https://vimeo.com/815957105

Your swing motion is fine. Strike is purely related to where your low point is in relation to the ball and also how deep into the ground it is. Your snap hook is caused by the club face being too closed to your path or your trail arm fully extending prior to hitting the ball, which would also compromise your strike. You have two options to correct it, open the face prior to taking your grip and then changing nothing else, or holding the face in place and opening your stance which will create a better face to path relationship.  If you increase your understanding of impact then you will learn that there are only a few factor that govern every shot that you ever hit and they are position in relation to low point of the swing arc, club face at impact, and shoulder line/ shoulder plane. 

 

First things first is to go find your strike and here is a video that I made for a buddy a few years back to begin to get an idea of where the low point of the swing arc is being set to develop a reference:

 

After you have digested this then you will move on to club face at impact to determine start direction, and then finally shoulder plane adjustments to determine the amount of curvature to a given shot.  This is the quick and dirty explanation but if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask and I will clarify further.  R to L
