Spider single bend face balanced vs odyssey double bend face balanced

Hello everyone

 

I am in deep search for right putter for me. Mostly an odyssey guy but was testing out taylor made yesterday. Niticed their face balanced spiders are "single bend" instead of the face balanced double bend im used to. What sre technical differences i should be aware of between the two?

 

They looked slightly different at address and swung a little different but i have no idea why.

Single bend and double bend shafts are not exactly standard across the board.

 

Double bend usually gives full offset and face balanced. 

 

Single bend can vary on offset depending on post design and can have more toe hang depending how low the bend is.

Assuming both face-balanced with the same offset, it then basically just boils down to personal preference. One isn’t better than the other, but - I agree - they can feel/swing different. I personally prefer a double-bend, probably because that’s what I’m more used to.

 

For example, you’ll see quite a few Scotty Cameron staffers on Tour using the same putter model but one guy might have a double-bend shaft while the other uses a single-bend. From my observation, it seems like most staffers opt for the double-bend when given the option

I've had both and technically there is no difference but visually I preferred the TM Spider. Looked better to my eye.
