Bettinardi Queen B6 vs Scotty Squareback #1

Experimenting more with double bend, low or no toe hang wide blades.

 

I've hit the B6 and lime it, but saw Scotty has an older model.

 

Anyone hit both of these by any chance and can note what they liked/didn't and your preference? Doubt I'll be bale to find a squareback IRL to test with.

I think the biggest difference is going to come down to feel. I've never held them side by side, but I do believe the toe hang will be fairly similar. The Scotty for me feels much softer though. Not insert soft, just softer. For me the Queen Bs are all much firmer off the face. I think maybe the BB line would be closer to the Scotty feel.

I’ve owned both. They are quite similar - both rather firm. For softer, try either a Betti KM1 (very soft)or 2014 SC Squareback (deep milled & somewhat soft). The aluminum insert Squarebacks of 2016 & 2018 were the softest but don’t wear well. 
 

Buy ‘em, try ‘em, sell off excess. 
 

I’ve kept the KM1 and 2014 SC Squareback. 
 

And of course there are exceptions to every rule, a limited run Betti QB6 w/copper insert is softer than any stainless standard QB6. I wish I kept mine!!!  Betti also sold limited FIT face QB6’s, as well. Choices!

Cheaper than their Hive putters with a more playable look in most cases.

This is true.  I owned a few QB6 putters but none with the FIT face.  They were all just too firm for my putting style.  Would love to try a FIT QB6.

 

I find it odd that putter hang information was left off - I suppose people just buy on the info and pics available.  All are sold.

While this was under the Hive release I'd say it fits into the Studio Reserve line which are kinda the inbetween of OTR and Hive. But just looking at the others in this Hive release they were 1000-1200 more than this QB6 which is a good deal if you want that setup.

I feel the Betty SS9 is more in line with the Scotty Squareback. Squareback is a long blade putter. I liked it but got rid of it thought the blade length was a bit to long for my liking. 
QB6 has a shorter blade length than both but as others mentioned I too would prefer the FIT face. 
I am on the fence with the SS9 or the SS35 I like the slant neck on the SS35 more than the plumber neck. Can’t find a SS35 local to try out

I noticed yesterday that Studio B Reserve had three gorgeous QB6’s with different mill options, Flymill, Roll Control, and Smooth!  The Roll Control was available but is now sold out. Smooth is the only one available. Presumably, it has the most firm feel. These limited editions are somewhat reasonably priced at $600 each.  (The included headcover is really nice, too.)
