Bridgestone J336 460 suggestions

Long time lurker, first time poster......

I am on a quest to find a driver that splits fairways rather than kills squirrels. I am currently using a stock R7 quad 9.5d stiff with a slight draw bias. My handicap index is 5.6, swing speed is 100 mph, ball speed 150 mph, with a fast tempo, shot tendency is fade with misses being blocked or sliced.

In my area I dont have ready access to a launch monitor nor is there a Bridgestone dealer with any on shelf inventory. I like what I see and hear about the Bridgestone J33R 460 but when I have hit the Aldila 65 stiff shaft in a Nickent ADX or Cobra 460 I lose it way right. Any thoughts on the Grafalloy shaft as an option.

My home course sets up for a draw but I have a tough time turning it right to left with any consistency.

my first post too...long time reader. I just got to hit the 460 on a launch monitor at a Bridgestone demo day last weekend. my swing speed is exactly like yours...right at 100 mph, but a fast tempo. usually hit small fades, don't turn it over too much. I currently hit the Aldila NV 65-S in my 400cc 9* Mizuno and it's great. I was looking for a little higher ball flight, so I thought the NV 65-S in the 460 10.5# would be good, or maybe a NVS, but the 9.5* was giving me the best numbers, low spin and launching about 13*. I bought the 9.5* with the NV 65-S the other combos just went too high. I really wasn't able to turn it over and draw it, but that's not my swing. trying the NV in regular flex may help take it right to left, but you may suffer on accuracy.

BTW, the J33R 460 is solid...the first monster driver that I feel comfortable with.

I always found the r500 proto from taylor made to be a fairway finder. The newer clubs these days have lower spin high launch, which helps distance but less spin is harder to control. The J33 series is a sold driver from Bridgestone, I'd recommend to anyone.

allthough i love my j33 460 so far, i wouldn't recommend it to you if you fight a fade. my driver plays neutral to fade, and if you already struggle w/ the nv going right, this combo will be nothing but trouble for you, i fear.

I loved the J33R 460 I demo'd with the NV. I hit a slight fade with that shaft. My swing speed averages between 100 and 105. My tempo is fairly fast.

I ended up ordering one with an Accra Tour 70. Another shaft I was also considering is a Graphite Design YS7. Those are not upgrade options from the factory. I had the shop pull the stock shaft and install the Accra. I should have it next week. I'll try to post a review next week. If not I'll post one after new years when i've had some time to test it.

Please review it with the new Accra. I have the 460 sitting here with the NV in it and I have a Tour 70 M5 waiting to go into it. I for one will look for ward to the review.
