It's been over a decade since I last did a WITB. Seems like a good time to do a new one. Will be adding more pics once I get the build cleaned up (need to turn my ferrules) and have a chance to take pics of the extras.

 

I've been playing graphite in my irons for the last 16 years. Started with the NV 130's back in the day, moved to NV 105s, VS 100s, VS 85s, Recoil 95s, and now the Maltby MPF Pro and NV shafts (in my wedges). I like how stiff the Maltby shaft is for such a light shaft.

I remember your WITB from way back when/a decade+ ago. Didn’t you play at Amherst? Or you carried an Amherst bag? That black/Tiffany Blue finish Scotty was the sauce then and still is now. Additionally, I remember you had the Aldila NV graphite shafts in the Cleveland CCM blades. Your bag was a motivating factor for me to go graphite in all of my clubs. Great to see your current setup. Hit’em well!

Hey! Good to see some of the same folks around. That was me. I played for Amherst from 06-10. Had the NV130s in various Cleveland blades. Their tour dept. treated me incredibly well. Really sad when they stopped making players clubs.

 

Amazing how expensive clubs are now. Went with Maltbys because I just can’t justify over a grand for graphite shafted irons anymore. 

But these things are money. Great distance, accuracy, and forgiveness.

I stepped away from the site for a bit and then came back as I started playing more. There are a few of us (near) legacy/old head WrX folks around. 
 I agree with your sentiment on the cost of golf clubs nowadays. Some of us have been around long enough to know jive marketing ploys that are used to justify the $$$ it costs to get into certain brands. 95% of it is just hype. The new stuff really isn’t that appealing to me so I just play what works for me.
