PXG Website Binge - Noticed Something Interesting - 0317 X "Proto" Hybrid

Being that I'm constantly looking at golf stuff, I was browsing Overstock at PXG's site and noticed this 0317 X Prototype Hybrid.

Does anybody have this thing? The "Prototype" part has my attention... LOL. I almost have to buy it but money is a little tight LOL

They’ve been around for years. Came out before gen3 or gen4 I forget. Quite low/low I believe.

They were just before Gen4. "Prototype" drivers fairways,  and hybrids.  They weren't limited production or tour only or anything like that, just what that release was called. I considered buying a proto driver when they were new, and from what I remember the reviews were positive.  Don't k own anything about the hybrids.

Yeah, now I remember seeing the proto line. Probably would rather buy a gen 6 when they come down in price.

 

I like 17 degrees, and adjustability would mean is only need one.  😄

As others have said, they were a regular line before they started putting the white/gray tops on the woods. The hybrids were well regarded - I gamed them for a couple of years.

I have a 22 hybrid. Really clean at address without all the top stuff. Solid club. Mine is a little bit light.

I just ordered the 17 degree but I’m going to dial it down to 15.5 degrees.  My Sim 2 Max 3 wood is going up for sale. 😂

I Figure I'll customize it for each shot lol.

 

I always feel like there won't be time, but in the summer I'm waiting between shots a little anyways, and in the off season I'm not pressed for speed.

 

I wonder if they've considered that in their revenue estimates.... lol

I have the 19 and 23 (I think) of the proto hybrids and they are really underrated sleepers - at least in my experience. Love the sound and the look. I find they also don’t ballon like some hybrids and the adjustability can fix the “lefts for righties bias ” issue of many other hybrids.

One of the reasons I bought the proto was because of the adjustability.  My driver is PXG from the same year S the proto.  They will looks similar and I can’t wait to hit it.  What shafts did you get in your hybrids?

I got the std Mitsubishi MMT - had it in another PXG hybrid, liked it

and set up both Proto hybrids with the same shaft model - smooth and reliable is how I describe that shaft when I use it

I went with the Evenflow shaft as I have it in my driver.
