Why Does Low Finish Help Create Low Trajectory

lool you can see the wind in the trees

This is a shot where I would pull out the 6I or 2H and run it up the front slope of the green.

Y. Some of the guys definitely try that.  So hard to gauge 50 yard distance and some angles are into the grain, plus upslope front of green.  It’s my favorite hole on the course. 2 eagles, prob 10 birdies, and absurd number of doubles in 20 yrs. If the drive goes right of center and it’s over 220 you’re in the bushes or ocean.  If you’re one club long on the approach and don’t angle enough right into the wind, the ball will end up in rocks or bushes over the green.  If you hit that perfect 40-60 yard shot might go in or be a kicker.

Honestly the contouring looked pretty inviting for that option, at least from the angle you showed me. If the chance of disaster is as high as you say it is I don't think I'd worry about getting it close and be happy with a par. Did you get the eagles from holing approach shot or from driving the green with a more aggressive line?

Good question. Eagles were both chip ins from about 20 yards from pins when my 240 yard drive probably hit a rock or something and ended just short of green. Bigger hitters in my group can hit driver or 3 wood very close with an accurate shot (probably = to approx 270 yards in the air depending on if catch a small downslope landing).  But 5% too far right or left and you’re near the Pacific, or in bushes.  And too boring to hit 5hybrid/9 iron. Need a birdie in the group just to stay even  on the hole.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
