I don't have any reliable info on this set.

I only have 'about 1990', maybe 'Hoffman forged', maybe 'Japan only release'.

Nice clubs and initial thoughts are they play pretty solidly and I have the set 3 -SW in great condition so I will likely keep them.

Some additional information would be very much appreciated, confirmatory or otherwise. They don't have a 'Pepsi' feel or look about them.

They don't appear in my reference books which only go up to 1984 and Ironfinder is no longer a resource to us.

No info on those but I do have a set of the earlier Walter Hagen, Haig Ultra Fluid Feel Contour Sole WH385 irons from, I believe, around 1967.

Possibly the longest iron name in golf history?

It's the Wilson iteration post Pepsi that I have. Mine are very similar to the 1984 version which has 'Walter Hagen' on the back pad, and mine has 'Wilson' in gold script.

Sorry to be asking the forum such difficult and unfathomable questions.

 

From another source I found out they were a special edition for the Japanese market in the early 1980s between 1980 and '83.

This would tie in with the 1984 edition with the same backpad only with 'Walter Hagen' instead of 'Wilson'. Also closely related to the Ben Crenshaw' edition of the same period.

Very, very nice clubs.
