Playing gamble sands Monday. Anyone have any experience to share?

Tuesday Wednesday will be at Suncadia courses!

should be a good time

Most people walk off it and think it's the friendliest course on the planet - bounces typically go your way by design. I can't recall if carts have GPS, if it's your first time a yardage book isn't a bad idea. Greens are massive but there's almost always a slope you can use to get the ball to the right tier. Pick the right tees and you'll have a great time.

1 + 2 - keep driver in the bag unless you're going for the green on 2 and you need it.

3 - blind tee shot, there's an aiming rock / pole to the center of the fairway. If you go straight over that, you run the risk of running through the fairway with a good drive, favor right of that aiming point.

4 - shortish par 3, stay left and ball will funnel

5 - looks like an intimidating tee shot, but it's not a hard carry. There's a massive speed slot on the left hand side of the fairway, but unless you bomb it, that speed slot and a fairway that cuts too much are usually in about the same spot. Favor the left so you are on the same level / can see down the green. Super long / skinny green - worth driving up to look at.

6 - huge hill right toward 7 tee. Hit that and you can roll your ball down to the green, no need to fire right at the flag (and plays ~210 depending on tees)

7 - reachable par 5. Let it rip. Balls move right in the fairway, aim at or just right of the centerline bunker.

8 - reachable par 4, but a long iron / hyrbid / wood off the tee leaves an easy approach. avoid the centerline bunkers

9 - bottlenecks in the fairway to a 2 tiered green. Be short of the waste area. If the pin is on the back shelf, you can play off the back stop

10 - short par 3. Only drink stand on the course. Take your driver to putt (there's a reminder) as 11 tee is beyond 10 green

11 - there's a centerline bunker you need to clear if you want to bite off. Going left of that bunker and a good drive can run through.

12 - driveable par 4. stay short of the waste area short left or anything right of the green will funnel onto the green.

13 - straightway par 5. On your approach, you really just need to clear a plateau ~75 yard short of the green to roll the ball down to a front pin. If the pin is back, go further but you'll still get a forward kick

14 - pick the left or right fairway, let it rip.

15 - straight forward par 4

16 - par 3, you need to be on the proper shelf. If pin is back right, you can use the backstop. Being above the hole is an easy way to bring a 3 (or 4) putt into play.

17 - tricky par 4. The difficulty is the fairways cants left to right from you, so you need to pick the right line. There's a bunker on the far side of the fairway, so I like to fin a line that gives by ~20 yard cusion for carry and hit and pray

18 - reachable par 5. Speed slot if you play close to the bunker on the right side of the fairway.

This is really helpful and there are a handful of videos on youtube of guys playing and recording shot by shot:
