Extra tape to thicken out a superstroke PT1.0

Hi all

 

This may have been answered elsewhere but a quick one - how much effect would say 3 extra wraps of tape have on bulking up a SS PT1.0? I have it with just one bit of tape as normal and its just a bit too thin, and the PT2.0 is not available here in the UK. Would say 3 extra layers of tape be noticeable, as it would if you did it with an iron or wood grip? Cheers

I believe that has like a rubber core or sleeve of some sort so if anything would cause that the stretch and not the outer layer. Could feel like its bulging in your hands.

Use an air compressor to put it on and it won’t be so bad if you change your mind.

Yeah i'm getting a club builder to do it, so will be all good... its more of if it will actually make a difference, as I like the grip shape and hoping extra tape will do the trick, rather than searching for a different grip. I would 100% notice it on a iron grip

Its very minimal at best. If anything it just makes a bit more plump haha. But give it go, it may be all you needed or to go up a size.

SuperStroke putter grips have a firm rubber core that's wrapped in a soft foam layer and then covered with vinyl. There's a very tiny chance any player could feel one layer of tape through all that foam.

 

On the other hand, there's a very high chance that trying to install a SuperStroke over the extra tape will prove impossible and ruin the grip entirely.

Every SS that I’ve used needed to be built up just to fit snug. They’re a bit loosey goosey.
