How is the MLM2 Pro’s performance in a garage setting?

Recommended Posts

I am curious to how an MLM2 Pro performs in a garage setting. I have read that certain radar units have trouble in a garage setting due to the concrete and metal from garage doors. I am just wanting to know if anyone has any experience in the setting and insures that might have helped with any issues was causing.

I've been using mine in my 2 car garage for the last couple months. No issues so far that I've encountered. I've been getting similar results as if I was outside into a net. I'm facing my MLM2Pro away from the garage door. I typically swing up to a hybrid in doors comfortably. I'm afraid of hitting my woods/driver and damaging them on the garage rail so I don't use them.

In your garage, do you put anything over the concrete like turf between the LM and where you are hitting?  I just ask because I've read in the past that concrete can mess with radar based LMs getting proper readings.

I'm using the rear golf mat extension from Indoor Golf Shop to place the LM on

Do you leave you simulator up all the time or pull it down after each use so that you can use the garage for vehicles?

My garage has been a mess since moving in so I've been leaving it up lately. Once it's cleaned out I'll be using it for 1 vehicle. It takes about 5-10 mins to setup when I have taken it down.

I had one setup in my garage for about two weeks before I gave up on it. It’s great when it works but there are just too many bugs and connection issues with the device. I would get a lot of no reads and constantly dropped connection. Even when connected directly to the device. I tried all the tricks and tips posted on forums and FB Groups and could not get it to stay connected consistently. I sent it back and got a Bushnell Launch Pro with the current subscription specials they’re running. Major difference in quality of devices. I’m only two days in with the BLP and it has been almost flawless through about 500 shots.

For me, it is between the Skytrak and the MLM2Pro.  I like the BLP/GC3 but have no interest in getting a gaming laptop to run simulator software.  I'm only entertaining systems that I can operate all their major functions through iPad including running E6 for when I might actually want to play simulation.

The only experience that I have had with the MLM2Pro has been positive.  A buddy has got one about a month and half ago, and by radar LM standards, his setup is a nightmare that somehow works.

His set up is in a garage where he has 2 fans going at all time.  There is nothing but exposed concrete between the LM and his hitting mat.  I was skeptical that it was accurate until his brother-in-law brought over his GC Quad to test it against, and the numbers were pretty spot on as long as using balls with the RPT pattern on them which he does with a tag marker and stencil he bought off Amazon.

He does connect it directly through his iPad that has cellular data, so he has not had any connection issues that has plagued the system since the beginning.  As far as dropped shots go, I think he's one of the luckier ones as he hasn't had much issue with it.

Overall, I feel like the MLM2Pro is a coin toss, but might be cheap enough to take the risk.
