Cleveland Smart Sole Full-Face 64"Lob Wedge

I currently game XE-1 65" wedge for anywhere 50 yards and under. Due to the age, club face and grooves are as smooth as baby's back.

I wonder if anyone bought new 2024 Smart Sole 64" lob wedge and would share the feedback.

Big and bulky would be a drawback I would think. If you need that much help and lack the touch around the greens, then the chipper with that putting motion would be your better bet, I would think...

If you can shave and save 1 stroke or two, you wanna be "big and bulky"

A 65" wedge has gotta be a little unwieldy. Probably need a permit to whip that thing around.

I received my LH Smart Sole Full Face Lob Wedge today, and had a chance to hit it in a simulator. I was very impressed ... I got it in graphite, and was hitting some real nice shots that were going high and landing softly. Looking forward to giving it a proper workout in the coming weeks ...

I bought one. Have used it on the sim and one round outdoors. It’s pretty great…way better than I expected

how is the feel of the new lob wedge? My XE1 wedge is made of not so soft steel and the sensation is harsh though I am used to it.

Did you have high loft wedge prior to the new one? If so, what was it? Can you share the difference?

Feel is good. I've had plenty of 60 degree wedges. The difference to me is not opening the face. The loft is built in, so you just make a simple stroke.

I got one just for kicks because we play a little par 3 course a lot. It managed to make me rework the bag at the top end to make room for it. It's just so simple to use 50 and in. Hit it much further and it spins the ball far to much to reliably know when it will stop pulling back. At the sim I was getting 14K+ spin on a Z Star XV at 60 yards......

I play in Ohio. Spring weather around here makes the ground soaking wet. I prefer to open the face like crazy and strike the ground before the ball, but when it is extremely soft and wet, it limits my lob shots. This club intrigues me immensely. I would only use it in super soft conditions but that comes around for a good month or so every year. Can you open the face a little with this wedge or does it fight you? Playing pitch shots with a square face seems very foreign to me.

My lob wedge was my to-go club before I found xe-1 wedge. Like you, I opened the club face depends on lie and conditions.

With xe-1 wedge, I didnt have to open the club face. Square face in all conditions. Chipping (5-20 yds) and pitching (25 - 50yds). In green side bunker, I use the same chipping stroke to get out.
