Hands at impact should be moving up and to the left while the club head is moving down and to the right?

Should that be what happens? If so, I suspect it is radically different from the way a lot of people think things should be. If not, in what direction should the hands be moving?

Don’t see this discussed much. Did a search and found a lot on shaft lean (towards the target), pronation, flexion/ extension but nothing squarely on the direction(s) the hands should be moving.

Put another way, possibly, or maybe it’s a different question, are the hands closest to the target line as it lies on the ground at around shaft parallel in the downswing, and from there they start to go up and to the left? While the club head goes down and around more in front of the body (outside of the hands I think they call it in the downswing)?

It looks to me like a lot of people try to keep the hands and the head in the same tilted plane as viewed down the line and to keep the whole thing (hands and head) moving down and to the right. This action, which I am suggesting is wrong, seems intended to get shaft lean and an inside out path.

Might that be because it's pretty well understood and obvious if you think about it a little bit? (General "you" here, not "you" specifically?)

The hands are farther ahead on the arc, among other reasons.

And yes, that is a conflict for a lot of people - they think or seem to think that "hitting down" more means their hands must be going down late.
