Big Cedar trip August 2024

Hey dudes, got my crew taking a trip to Big Cedar in august this year! We’re there for 5 days, playing all courses. But curious what the vibe is like at the resort? Is food and beverages overpriced like most places? Any restaurants off property better? Thanks in advance.

We play three or four rounds a year at Big Cedar and I can promise you that ALL things associated with Big Cedar are expensive and food and beverage is no exception.

There are however quite a few options available at Big Cedar you just have to be willing to pay for them. You can easily checkout their menu offerings and prices online to get an idea of what you're getting yourself into.

The hours of operation for some of the restaurants are a little unusual as well.

And unfortunately Branson isn't really known for its dining.

Outside of Big Cedar everything is pretty much geared towards old retired people looking for Blue Plate specials.

Not much nightlife either as most places close pretty early for the same reason.

The golfing experience is outstanding though and I'm sure you'll have a great time!

I took my Buddies to BCL last Summer and the golf was amazing. However, in August, be prepared for 100* + weather - stay hydrated!

Also we usually ate at the Clubhouse restaurant (excellent + decent prices) and we went to Guy Fieri's restaurant in Branson for a couple of meals. A little overpriced, but good food + ambience.

I live about 30ish minutes from Big Cedar so make it up there to eat/play golf several times a year. EVERYTHING on property is overpriced but is what it is. My favorite of the courses is Ozark national but they are all great. Favorite restaurants are Buzzards Bar or Worman House.

There are a few other good golf courses in the area but nothing up to the standards of Big Cedar.

The Downing Street Pour House in Hollister (15 minutes away) is good to eat at but honestly not a ton of places in Branson that I would venture off property for.

I live about 80 miles from Big Cedar. Nothing is cheap, I haven't played Ozark National or Payne's Valley yet. Probably will later this year, I was going to play those courses a while ago but got rained out. Both par 3 courses are lot of fun to play on. They used to host Missouri Par 3 Team Championships(won it in 2020).

As for dining options outside of the resort, you might want to eat at Branson Landings, just east of US-65 & MO-76 intersection. 15-20 minutes drive.
