TPI + Clubhead speed video

I *think* there is an important message in this video, but it seems a few minutes short of a clear explanation. Any idea in layman’s terms on what this player is doing to increase clubhead speed?

If………….

 

you can float load and:

 

Not get really extended in the lead wrist too much or two far down or can recover (Gary Woodland)

Sequence your segments  correctly

Get you club face orientation and you body rotation matched up

You can release the vertical hinge without body stall

 

You can hit it really good and really far.

 

Problem is I have not seen many who can do all of the above.

 

I had trouble with number 3.

 

The moment arm stuff can get dodgy too.  If you try and increase it, you can cause early right tilt and present anther set of issues.

This is the part I’m trying to understand, so this kid is pushing less than other players, but it’s further outside the center of mass…does that mean he’s pushing more towards the target and less vertical/up?

Not necessarily as I understand it. He has more mass away from the target therefore he not in a good mechanical position to jump with his lead foot. Basically he has his chest is more over his rear foot and can’t jump as high as if his chest was more over his lead foot in the downswing. 
 

A lot of coaches would try to teach him to restack the upper body center of mass and the lower body center of mass in transition

To me this is so complex, that it is not of much use.  To calculate the moment arm you need to measure the ground force (you need the force and the direction of force) from each foot, add them together in a combined force vector and then measure the distance from the centre of mass.

The moment arm is the distance from the COM to the vector.

 

Weight staying back can increase the length of the moment arm, and so a smaller GRF is required to result in the same amount of torque.
