wow...I have read this whole thread from start to finish....all I gotta say is if there's something I can do to make your marshalling job easier, drpino, just say so and I'll try to help.

at least I read the rules.

Being an avid seller on the BST, I think Drpino has done a great job at moderating, not policing, the BST. Being a past violator of the rules, I can honestly say that he has done a great job at helping me post For Sale Items correctly. He was clear and helpful and gave the appropriate direction needed to complete the post. I have never dealt with disrespect or anything of that nature.

Its a great place to sell your stuff.. lets keep it that way!

In the end... Just read the Rules.... They aren't that hard to follow!!!

just another reminder, trade ads and bait require pics and prices. the WTB section is for buying. if you'd like to offer something up for trade, it should go in the regular FS section and should be accompanied by photos and prices.

these are particularly vital rules seeing as there are little-to-no repercussions (no Paypal disputes/claims, etc.) on trade transactions that go bad (items not as represented, etc.). the pics and price requirements are for the mutual benefit of both parties involved in trades. thanks for your understanding and cooperation.

bump for a reminder.

no relists within 30 days.

clear ORIGINAL photos required AT THE TIME OF LISTING (not at your convenience i.e. when i get home, when the battery is charged, etc.). no reason mods should have to "check up" on an ad to make sure photos have been added.

prices are required for all items listed.

trade ads require pics and prices and belong in the FS section, not the WTB section.

CLOSE YOUR OWN ADS ONCE THE TRANSACTION(S) IS FINALIZED (I.E. PAID FOR, SHIPPED, RECEIVED, ETC.).

buyers backing out is not a legitimate reason for a relist.

The rules are clearly stated.....READ THEM!!!!!!

an item should not be considered sold (and thus the ad locked) unless it actually is (i.e. payment received).

the only instance where it would be considered is if the item was paid for in full, shipped, received and then returned. if that is the case, PM a mod or use the Violation button on your own ad and state your case and it will be reviewed.

there are just too many times when someone says "I'll take it" the seller thinks it's sold then marks it as such (or closes the ad) only to relist it the next day.

re: the original photos rule, using someone else's photos (like the person from whom you bought it from) or ebay watermarked ones is not allowed. the purpose of the photo rule is not only to show the condition but to prove you actually have the item(s) in your possession.

you may all think these rules are overly complicated and strict but the mods deal with disputes almost on a daily basis. these rules are designed to protect the entire community (buyers, sellers and traders) and to limit the amount of crap we have to step into. you'd be surprised at how many seemingly mature adults can't resolve disputes on their own in a polite manner.

My Controls > Manage Your Attachments and delete older uploads to make room for new ones. if you're going to use this site's system, make sure your photos are reasonably sized (both dimensions and file size - 800x600 and less than 1MB).

to all: if you post a new ad, go back and lock your previous one first please. it's not only required by the rules but it keeps the BST cleaner and manageable for everyone to browse. there are a lot of complaints about ads not being seen once they drop off the first page. well, if you locked your own ads and they're automatically archived, there would be less pages and clutter to wade through.

the rules are in plain sight so don't be surprised when your ad is deleted or merged with a previous one without warning or notification.

My thoughts are that most of our members adhere to the B/S/T Forum rules...BUT! The few are the ones that we deal with...It just seems like there are more violations of the rules. :D

agreed, for the most part everyone is really good about following them and even reminding others. for those that are regularly browsing, please utilize the Violation button if you notice a lack of photos, price, ebay pics, etc. etc. thanks.

I know that dealing with these posts must be a huge amount of work, but i think some people are trying to make good sales/trade posts (myself included), and having them removed with no reasonng or information as to why... for people like myself it might be helpful if the OP was informed as to why the post was deleted so that in the future they will have a better understanding of the mistakes they made and not make them again.
