I bought a dozen of these on the way to a match with my father, having forgotten to throw my normal ball (Callaway HX Hot Bite) in the bag and already being a fairly good distance from my house to turn around and pick them up. I'd heard good things about the ball, so I picked up a dozen on a whim to see what they were like.

I'm not sure what the issue is, but these went left all day. I didn't change anything about my swing, but they seem to enjoy flying off to the left a lot. I hit one (count 'em... one) green the entire day.

They're super-straight. Not once did the ball draw or fade, which is ok by me - I'm not advanced enough to effectively work a ball like that. But for those that enjoy a workable ball, I'd have to advise otherwise.

They bite pretty well, and are very durable. I didn't find any groove marks on the balls as I was playing, only some relatively minor scuffs. They definitely roll out more than my normal Hot Bites, but I expected that somewhat.

The thing that makes me really not like this ball, though, is the feel. It, for me, lives up to the old Rock-Flite moniker, as I felt like I was playing stickball with these things. Didn't like the sound, and for some reason, I could not nail down the ball's speed on the greens all day.

It's a great ball for an amateur like me, but one that's more focused on cost control than quality, in my opinion. I gave it a 2 because I feel that they mismarketed the ball, but it definitely has its good uses.
Not a fan? Me either. I prefer Top Flite's original DD and their XL tour - both with good feel and a good value, with more durability.

I actually prefer the Wilson Eco Core - now I'm saving the planet one lost ball at a time.

I usually play the Pro V1x and decided to give these a try (price was right and I was out of Pro v1s). MAN, was I surprised. All the reviews I read were spot on. Distance was better in my opinion, spin was just a tad less and feel was close. Durability was WAY better. All in all, I'm a convert!

Does anyone know how these compare to the Top Flite XL Extreme Tours from a few years back? I bought out Dick's supply when they had them for $8/doz and I'm finally about to run out.

Also, has anyone tried the Gamer V2?

tried it over the weekend, and i loved it.
it was very long off my driver, and i liked the feel from the iron shots.

also, i dont need to draw pictures on this ball because no one else uses it around where i live.
two of my friends and my dad (prov1x and buner tp fans) are switching to this one after using it a few times too.
i deserve commission from top flite.

edit: i was talking about gamer v2.

So after reading different threads on this ball, I decided to give the v2s a shot. So I went on to EBay to see if I can get a good deal for my trial run and ended up buying 6doz from budgetgolf for about $63 shipped to my door. I figured if I absolutely hated them, some one on here would gladly take them off my hands.

So far I really like this ball. I tested them versus the prov1 and for me, chipping and lobbing greenside, I found them pretty comparable. Feel off the wedge and flight and roll characteristics were about the same. They did feel different off the flat stick though. The v2 felt a little mushy while the prov1 felt soft but had a little "click" that I prefer. Hopefully in the next week I'll get to try them from 100, 150, 200 and off the tee.

I'll update later.
