Tour Burner TP

ok so I am ordering my Tour Burner TP tomorrow and want to know a little but about some shafts and get the input from those who may have hit this driver / shaft combinations.

I have the BB 63 X, tip trimmed 1" in my G10 and just do not like the setup. Last year I played the VS Proto 70X and it was ok, and the year before it was the V276X tip trimmed 1" and loved it. I wanted to get the 73X BB but could not in my ping... and now have the same dilemmna with TM...

SO my question....

Not having really hit the Rombax in the TM.... how does it play? I know the flight is higher than the BB and Whiteboard, but what can I expect? I would rather have the weight of the 75 Rombax and tip trim if needed... than play the lighter BB or WB.

any suggestions?

Right now I'm playing the x series rombax which I was told was close to the RB, and the w series is close to a BB. Not sure how different the rombax shaft is in the tour burner tp compared to r7 425 tp, but the 75 gram and 65 gram had a different feel/profile. In my 425 tp i had the 65g rombax tp. The 65 played a little lower launching and spinning for me than the 75 was; 65g close to a BB feel imo, and i think there actually was higher torque in the 75 too. Not sure if thats changed in the tour burner tp. Hope that helps. Correct me if I am wrong.

I know the whiteboard has a lower launch/spin characteristics than the other stock shafts... but wanted to know what Rombax shaft it is closest to... the Y, Z, W, etc....

It lists as a 2.5 torque... doesn't it feel boardy? I love the launch and spin characteristics of the BB but feel like a can only swing about 60% with the lighter 63 shaft.

Spent a lot of time in the TM Tour Van at the SHO. A lot of the drivers (majority) made for the players were being installed with the new Aldila Voodoo shaft.

The Aldila guy was the busiest shaft guy there. He said that the shaft was only out for 2 weeks and they could not keep up. I inquired about stiff shafts and he just laughed. All he had on hand were X, but he said they would be available in a few weeks. Im not sure which version of the Voodoo would work with your specs but there is definitely something going on there.

yea i got the vs proto and love it, but the voodoo is a really nice shaft, that is tour quality, however the only place you can get it is on eBay.
